This. I've heard Pokmon fans saying that Game Freak "learned their lesson" from Sword and Shield, but I'm pretty sure the lesson they learned is that no matter how badly they fuck up, people will still lap up their games in record numbers.

Yeah seeing customer apathy to clear mediocrity by the developers was almost heart breaking. It made me realise that pokemon may finally be a dead franchise to me after I held out hope

How do you like living in New Zealand? What are the great things? What are the poopy parts?

Relatively safe and temperate (that means it isn't a tropical paradise or like cali either mind you, but in Wellington the number of times it snowed in my life I can count on one hand. Good for consistency). Food is generally of a high quality as well (relative to my experience in other countries).

The main obvious negatives are distance (long trip to go to and from nz). A roll on effect of this is there has been a lag getting commodities to nz when they are new. In terms of media (movies, music, games) this isn't a big deal anymore as things tend to get simultaneously released everywhere these days. But you do run into stupid stuff like the Valve Index having no official avenue for purchase (despite Gabe living in nz). Similarly if you wanted the newest model Tesla I wouldn't be surprised if it was hard to find (and certainly it must be hard to find charging stations). One other thing that may be a negative is if you are from a large (maybe even moderate) sized city in America stuff in nz would probably close super early for you. Most regular stores close by 6pm and supermarkets 10-11pm. Liquor laws require bars to close at either 2 or 3 am (I forget which) as well. Mileage would vary depending where in nz you are

I suspect another issue is it wouldn't have been as simple as European nation go in and conquer. A lot of European nations probably had a vested interest that their competitors not take the country too, so it would probably turn into a European nation (with some support of their allies) vs Japan (backed by other European nations). Would be interesting to see read some history on this, much like how you have people in US government who really want to invade Iran I am sure some high ranking political officials and military leaders in Europe did vie to invade Japan.

The original names for their pizzas were all after the seven deadly sins, but as they came up with new combos that had to make new hell related words. Only downside of this gimmick is idr what anything is called compared to their normal names. I remember Greed = Hawaiian and Lust = Meatlovers but that is about it

My most recent file had Fran as a Foebreaker / Monk and I did not regret it. Whenever I fought absurdly strong things I had no business fighting, the various breaking technicks helped enormously. She had access to pretty much all of the worthwhile white magic while also dealing great damage with high combo rate poles that can hit flying enemies. I believe she is actually the best pole user.
