How is it difficult to understand at all that someone who made a huge deal out of how much of a problem mean tweets by random supporters of Bernie was looks like a clown for handwaving away Neera's twitter activity that she was PERSONALLY doing. In my view, I think the fact that Neera is terminally tweeting in a petty way is the only likable quality she has, but it is absolutely hypocritical for Warren to say mean tweets don't matter after the primary.

How is it difficult to understand the difference between making racist and sexist comments, and giving out the HOME phone numbers of two top members of a union is a bit different from calling Mitch "Moscow Mitch" or Voldemort or any such thing?

It's not hypocritical at all. But it's easy to paint it that way when you don't want to look into something further.

Bernie has the highest net favorability rating. He's also the most popular Senator. Some of Biden's current approval rating is because he's literally not Donald Trump. It would've translated to almost any person who became President. After 4 years of utter and complete incompetence, people are pretty happy with someone mildly competent.

It used to be that either shame held some of this in check from politicians and they'd rely on dog whistles or only kind of eroding the edges of truth but I fear one of the most consequential aspects of Trump's rise is that truth no longer matters and Republicans have seen that if they actually can just straight-up lie and there's an entire media ecosystem and 30-40% of people will just buy into it wholeheartedly instead of before where it'd be like, "Well, if you look at this study by [joke study here] there are serious questions on the science here and..."

I feel like this is the other way around. Truth no longer mattered to Republicans for a long time, and that led to the rise of Trump. See: Birtherism, Climate Change Denial, Conversion Therapy, and so much more.

Like I think at bare minimum people should be able to agree that if you work 40 hours a week (nevermind that there are people who can't get 40 hours of work, even when they want more time) you should be able to afford food and rent. He's led to a nice movement that probably wouldn't be possible with term limits. New ideas are stifled by things like term limits, because they take a lot of time to become accepted. Now we have Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Jamaal Bowman, Cori Bush, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley and more thanks to work Bernie did.

The old guard will simply handpick their replacements with endorsements, thus ensuring new ideas don't get advanced in the way they need to be. It'll stifle progress.

12 years is way more than enough time, and you could always cap at 24 if you're an exceptional house member who then runs for senate.

Cori Bush is an excellent lawmaker. But she also lives in a Red State. Meaning she'd be capped at 12 years. Meanwhile, Ted Cruz is in texas so he can serve 12 years in congress, and 12 in the senate. Also, just because you represent your district well, doesn't mean the rest of the state leans your way. It's really limiting, and I don't think it really solves any issues.

On the surface, term limits seem like a good idea. (retire already, Feinstein). But it also limits what an effective lawmaker can do. It also potentially increases the influence of lobbyists because lawmakers will be more reliant on lobbyists (who'll continue to be there long after the congressman/senator is gone and have better relationships with more established congress members even though they haven't been there as long)

I'm fine however if Ted Cruz wants to voluntarily adhere to serving just two six-year terms. He just has to forego running for re-election.
