Well, I haven't gotten to hang out with most of my friends for close to a year, I can't really go anywhere fun, barely saw my family, I work from home now so I don't see any of my coworkers anymore, and all my classes are online now so my human interaction is limited there. I love my wife, but us being around each other in a 1 BR apt, 24 hours a day is making us both stir crazy.

If your "prank" entails scaring strangers by thinking a crazy person with a knife is coming at them, don't act surprised if someone defends themselves accordingly.

I haven't played a legit retro console in several years when my friend who still had his NES and Snes moved. I love retro games, but I'm not gonna go through the hassle of modding an old console, or finding a CRT to play on.

The funny thing is the ban was the thing that made my Dad turn on Trump after he voted for him. He saw that and was just like "Why the fuck was this even a priority for him?"

More or less. I'm married, have a nice apartment, lot of good friends, have been doing standup comedy for 8 years now, but I imagine 16 year old me would be a bit bummed to find out I didn't end up a rock star and my day job is data entry lol

No but a few years ago I sold all of my old consoles: NES, SNES, N64, PS1, PS2, and my Sega Dreamcast and all the games.

Now I wish I'd kept them all.

There's always that regret. I have my Gamecube and Original Xbox to a friend after I got my 360 and was pretty much only playing that. Now I wanna lay Metroid Prime and don't have any access to it.

Amanda LaRusso is my favorite character. She's the most reasonable character. I'm on the episode where Danny is trying to apologize to her for abandoning her and forcing her to run the business alone. He tries a few grand gestures, but she's right that those gestures don't really fix the root issue of Danny being unnecessarily too focused on the dojo. The dojo does nothing for them (as a family unit). It's only serving him AFAIK.

Amanda is like the one anchor to reality. There's all this drama, and then she wanders in like "All this karate shit is insane, what is wrong with all of you people?"

I've got the SNES mini. I got it before the Switch Online was a thing, but I'm glad there's some unique games on it. Worth it for Super Mario RPG.

Also has Earthbound, which is nice, since Nintendo seems allergic to putting that game on the Switch.

I picked up a SNES mini, just because. I've emulated for years, but having an accurate SNES controller that felt like one I grew up with added to the whole experience.

Honestly, I recently played through it again for the first time in about 20 years and really enjoyed it. Granted, I was playing the HD version so I could do things like speed up battles, which made the grind of drawing spells much more manageable.

It's especially hilarious when he blamed a democrat president for something that happened during George HW Bush's presidency. This is like when you got right wingers blaming Obama for Hurricane Katrina.

I'm 40, these days I start most games on easy and enjoy the story, then may replay with a harder difficulty to challenge myself. I figured I don't have a ton of free time anymore, so I try not to get pissed off by my hobbies.

Why cant fans just let him die already? I really feel this huge disconnect between me and other Star Wars fans, because all they want are shitty EU adaptations of Luke/Han/Leia space adventures.

Ahsoka already took me out of the episode 2 weeks ago where she was squaring off with that lady and didnt immediately clown her. Idk, it feels weird to me for ordinary trained people just... giving people like Ahsoka trouble. My housemate tried justifying it to me, like Oh, she was trained by [some guy] and... no.

Why wouldn't they have Luke, at like full strength, the most prominent Jedi in the galaxy, that's actively trying to rebuild the Jedi be the one to show up for Grogu? He literally makes the most storyline sense.

I enjoy them as a guilty pleasure. They were kind of my gateway band to power metal.

It really wasn't. The receipt of his fathers lightsaber was the visual background of an exposition scene where the primary focus was his father and the Jedi, the light saber itself receives very little attention in the scene. The loss of the lightsaber is similar. The construction of a new lightsaber literally occurs completely off screen.

People remember the iconic lightsaber visual, but the direction and text of the film's don't actually emphasize the weapon all that much.

Still don't know why they decided to cut the scene with Luke finishing his lightsaber in RotJ. I'm guessing they wanted a bigger reveal for it.

Because they overestimate the attachment people have to individual lightsabers and don't want to get rid of Anakin's, despite virtually every Jedi in canon breaking/losing and replacing their saber repeatedly. The growing deification of lightsabers throughout the years is more a reflection of fan culture rather than the original films.

I mean, Luke getting his father's lightsaber was treated like a big deal in the OT, as well as losing it and then creating his own. It wasn't until the PT that you had Anakin losing sabers all over the place and using loaners.

West Virginia broke off from Virginia and became its own state because they didn't want to leave the Union. Nevada was also made a state during that time period.

Not sure if it counts, but when I beat Final Fantasy VIII a couple months ago I was using aura and spamming Squall's limit breaks on Ultimecia. I messed up and she wiped by party, but I had the Phoenix GF that revives you sometimes and casts a fire attack on the enemy. Luckily, Phoenix triggered, but the fire attack killed Ultimecia... so the killshot came from her killing me.

Nah, he was probably on the Samus Returns dev team, and is salty that "some neckbeard in his mom's basement" made a better Metroid game than they did.

To be fair, Samus Returns is also a blast.

I tend to lean towards Fusion also. Zero Mission is great, but, I really don't like the end where you're suddenly in a stealth game avoiding the pirates in the Zero Suit. I really hated that trope from that specific era of gaming where they would crowbar a stealth segment into a game that wasn't really suited for it.

I remember there being rumors of that, but I don't think Disney is insane enough to try that unless they take a very hard turn on it and have a historically accurate portrayal, and even that is a hard sell.

Yup . The Prime Trilogy takes place in between Metroid II and Super Metrpid, Fusion is Metroid 4 and so far no games have gone beyond that.

Super Mertroid is honestly a good enough entry point, considering it gives you a rundown of the first 2 games in the opening.

I had a gal break up with me years ago because she knew I wanted to get married and have kids, and she didn't want that, so she figured she was just wasting my time.
