I might have thought the same thing 10 years ago, but people can change.

For example when I was really young I said the N word out loud not knowing what it meant and my grandmother slapped me across the face. She later scolded me and thought 6 year old me what racism was and why its bad.

That was in the early 90s, it was jarring to watch her change slowly over the years until she became an incredibly racist Trump Supporter in 2015.

So for me Lukes personality change after almost 40 years is completely believable.

I fell asleep in AotC and RotS when I first saw them in theaters, I had to watch it on my friends DVDs to get the rest.

But it has a consistent story (which is really hard to fuck up when they're prequels and you know what it's leading up to and yet Phantom Menace was still filler garbage) and it has worldbuilding so they're great movies now.

World building does not a good film make.

Since the OT was a labor of love created by a group of passionate people, and the PT was created by one inept narcissist, and the OT and the PT have very different ideas of how the Force works, yes George Lucas probably either:
1) Didn't have much of a hand in the Force's creation, and thus didn't know about it.
2) Did have a hand in it but retconed how the Force worked to fit his own shitty writing.
3) Was lazy as fuck and didn't care, which makes sense since George Lucas isn't an artist and is a shrewd businessman.

They shouldn't have given her unrestricted access to it in that case. Aang only gets it at the end of Season 3, there's no need to give it to Korra so early, or even at all.

unlesa that ability is now part of the avatar line and passed from one avatar to another.

Book 2 of Korra heavily implied this to be the case.
