Eh that depends how you define reliable. This recent bear market has made 30% very attainable. Vanguard's tech etf VGT has posted an average of 29.61% over the last 5 years, for example.

That being said, I was making 70k within a few years and if you're even the slightest bit smart and motivated you will climb the ranks quickly. And if you have a technical job, transitioning to civilian contractor or gov jobs that get to 6 figures is relatively easy

Don't know what clapped out means or why an e46 would break your bank but I will say that I've had an e46 for a decade now with 260,000 miles on it and its been wonderful. No job I couldn't do myself and still looks and runs great. Don't know what everyone in here is on about, it isn't hard to maintain at all
