At least grinding in the newer games is a little bit faster thanks to Exp. Share. I have to imagine it's much more of a pain to grind in the pre Gen 5 games if you're not playing on an emulator that can speed it up.

He is.

I tried a Nuzlocke in Omega Ruby, and I got to Mossdeep and lost interest. Something about the game was just so disappointing to me. And I didn't really like my team all that much. I tried Pokemon Moon after that, but I decided to Nuzlocke that from the start instead of doing it normally. It being pretty tough combined with that same empty feeling made me give up on that as well. And that's the last I've ever played of Pokemon.

Speaking of that, I guess she released her first original song the other day and it's pretty enjoyable.

Okayu has definitely become one of my favorites. It's neat how her chill demeanor can resonate so well with the non-Japanese speaking audience. I don't think I've ever heard her say anything in English. And she doesn't need to. It does certainly help that she seems to be pretty popular with clippers.

Smash fans are perpetually stuck in the 90s and early 00s, and thus want characters from games they grew up playing, not from newer, modern games.

That's why "anime" is such a buzzword, even though Link and Zelda 100% fit the anime aesthetic (but again, they grew up playing the Zelda games, so they get a pass).
Yeah the anime swordfighter thing is pretty ridiculous, especially for a game with a roster as complete as Ultimate's base roster was.

But I do think people are very frustrated with how Nintendo has basically abandoned many of their classic IPs. I guess it's sort of rearing its head in Smash now as well.

To casual fans and kids, Sword and Shield is just as good as all the Pokemon games before it. Ultimately, the part of the fanbase that's hungering for something more is a minority. And I imagine a decent portion of that group ended up getting the game anyway.

Hopefully the Pokemon franchise churns out some high quality spin-off games to make up for the lackluster main series. Pokemon Snap looks promising for example, even though I'm skeptical of how much content it will actually have.

Actually they're the same Ganondorf but its always a different Link. Ganondorf gets sent to the Sacred Realm where he's imprisoned. He breaks free and Sacred Realm takes place outside of time so he ends up wreaking havoc on one of the two timelines.

Then there's Ganon who is in the "hero failed" timeline where he exists and then is killed and brought back on occasion.
In that sense, yes. I should have said instead they're two different characters, since one experienced a 7 year rule over Hyrule and the other never made it that far.

In all fairness, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess literally directly contradict each other's accounts of what happened to Ganondorf.

But that's really all fans have to go on.

Things get REALLY weird with Breath of the Wild, though, because you literally find the broken Mirror of Twilight (Child Timeline) and there are clear references to Hyrule being previously flooded, with Ganondorf's actual body being buried under the castle (Adult Timeline).
How do Wind Waker and Twilight Princess contradict each other considering they take place in different timelines? They're essentially two different versions of Ganondorf.

The factions are quite diverse, so recommending a baseline is tough. But generally speaking to learn the mechanics on Easy you could do Franz (Empire) or Tyrion (High Elves) and branch out from there. Personally my favorite lord is Ghorst for Vampire Counts. You can make upkeep free zombie and skeleton deathstacks roaming the map in a literal apocalypse for the good guys.

Generally at the start of any campaign you have a tutorial battle then a starting province to "complete" by taking the missing places. From there you want to focus on economy (public order/growth/money) and any unique resources a province has access to, like iron ore or something, you want to build that unique building too. Always keep an eye on military buildings to see what units they provide and would like to have in your army, too. I generally shoot for a Core Province at Tier 3+ and well defended by around turn 30-35 before I strike out into the world by eating my neighbors.

When you first start a game you want your first turn to go through your tech tree, diplomacy (trade deals mostly), any faction specific perks (e.g: machinations for the Empire) and so on. Then do your tutorial battle, you should just walk your starting army to the starting enemy and save before the battle. Keep practicing until you get overwhelming victory here and that's a good baseline to know you've got the hang of the first 20 turns of enemy armies.
To add a little bit to this, it can also be a good idea to continuously sack a specific settlement that you have no interest in occupying at the moment. Not only is it a good money maker, but you'll be leveling up your Lord and other characters in the process. It works best of course on a weaker faction that you can essentially just bully for a while.

Also, pump out Heroes are soon as you can get them. Not only are Heroes some of the best units you can field in battle, but their abilities as an agent can give you a major edge over the AI. Even just having them as scouts is nice.

On the Total War site they mentioned both Kislev and Cathay are going to be fleshed out more in the revived Warhammer tabletop game. So it seems like a joint effort between both them and Games Workshop. Kislev was only a little bit defined in the old Warahmmer Fantasy Battle. And Cathay was never playable in any form. They've got free reign to do almost anything with them.

Hopefully Chaos Dwarfs will be the pre-order bonus race. And then Ogre Kingdoms can follow as DLC I imagine. Or vice versa.

Oh, there were a few good reasons.

1. It was marketed wrong, putting much more emphasis on the GamePad than anything else, and along with the name made people believe that it was a mere tablet add-on for the Wii. Calling the system "Wii 2" to begin with would have much better gotten the point across.
2. Even that aside, most of the casuals who bought the Wii moved on to mobile games, which blew up tremendously in the years since the Wii's launch, so that well was unavailable for Nintendo.
3. Developers had to mind the GamePad, so porting games over from PS3 and X360 wasn't as simple of a task.
4. It launched when the PS4 and the XBOne were on the way, so most other companies would shift focus towards those consoles in short order, and the Wii U wasn't nearly powerful enough to handle ports of PS4 and XBOne games, cutting off the supply of third party support that was promised early on.
I meant more in comparison to the Switch, because like I said I don't actually think the Switch is all that much better on its own. All your points are certainly true though.

Any level with the Flood as at least one of the primary enemies should be considered a Flood level. Otherwise, you couldn't really consider High Charity to be one either, since you fight a ton of Covenant in that one.

Besides, the Flood are the primary enemy faction in Halo anyway. The Sentinels you fight are more of a secondary enemy.
