My county is actually a red travel advisory, so work is not a required thing. As such, I called in. I've worked all but four days this year, before today, and I've already thrown in 18 12-hour shifts.

I've got to dig out anyway. I did so yesterday when I got home, so it shouldn't be awful today, but I still have a good 8 or so inches to contend with.

Not a disagreement persay, but I pointed out Biden's "brilliant" voter strategy by having illegals become citizens and having 11 million democratic voters for Democrats.

The Republicans should focus more on making better policy that more people like. But.. they'd rather stick to disenfranchisement and voter suppression.

Keep in mind too, more legal citizens means more people paying taxes. I don't think I've ever seen more than a few stray Dems clamor for "open borders" as the right wing fear propaganda goes.

I can understand some of your questioning. I frequent the place and I got with many of the discussions that are held, but it IS a very blue board.

I have a coworker who is convinced there is something major going on with the US related to the Pakistan blackouts, and she showed me some sort of conspiracy shit she was looking at to where Biden wasn't going to be arrested right away or something.

Not by a long shot. The only real negative in my year honestly was losing a half-sister (to drugs, and 90% certain it was a suicide), almost every other aspect has gone neutrally if not positively.

I feel your pain as far as a Versa goes. I'm not into huge vehicles (drive a Tucson myself and I think I'd only go bigger if I needed to haul more people) but too small equally kind of sucks IMO.

More or less was engaged to my kids mom, but that went to the way side after she decided she wanted to fuck around.

Feels no different to me than a standard breakup, minus the child involvement, but we had a casual engagement, no actual marriage plans were set.

I get to, in theory, work everything in the next month aside from Xmas Eve/day and New Year's Eve/day.

I won't have a babysitter between Xmas and New Year's though so I'll be taking a few extra days off. Still should make for a nice paycheck however.

I feel like "bro splits" are over-targeted and generally inefficient. I could maybe see if a high level bodybuilder needed to work out some imbalances, but personally, I've always done better alternating upper body and lower body.

I'm gonna wager she will be there until the baby is born. 30 weeks is pretty early but it's very much a time of viability. Had a coworker give birth at 25 weeks earlier this year. Amazingly, the baby survived. Obviously a long NICU stay.

I've been hovering around 840 for a few years now.

No late payments since 2006 (and that one was BS), I've kept open auto loans the entire time (what can I say, I like driving newer), home loan since 2016, and about $1k revolving debt on $20k of credit.

You should have a talk with your SO. You should also talk to a doctor. You may be nipping in the bud some issues that may balloon into something much more serious.

I'm in on this. If it leads to a breakup, so be it; it's near impossible to really reconcile a difference in desire of children. The guy can always find someone who wants to have kids if he really desires.

Virtually nothing in that $400k "poverty" breakdown constitutes anything remotely CLOSE to scraping by.

I get that the cost of living is generally cheaper here in the Midwest where I live, and maybe my standards are lower, but at $19 and change per hour, I feel like I'm doing far better than just scraping by, even though I virtually singlehandedly raise two kids, contribute to a 401k, own a home, and have an auto loan. It's called not living above your means, and overtime helps as well.

like really? yall would rather have another $35k payment over your head than just paying the $800-1000 major service?

Basically been doing this for about 15 years.

My first car was a 200k mile Toyota Camry. The amount of stuff that would constantly go wrong with it cost easily the same as a car payment, and with those unexpected headaches, you bring loss of ability to do whatever you were planning to do and the stress that comes with it.

For about ten years, I basically just had the disposable income and I tend to lack some of the other money pits people tend to be into (such as costly cable packages or smoking/drinking habits).

The last five years, I've had kids. It's definitely influenced by my already established newer car "habit" but I prefer to drive them around in something newer and safer.

Even if I've mostly been car to car, I have plenty to show for it. Could be Pandora's box too, though; good credit is not a particularly good thing in the wrong hands
