texas is faring worse than most states because the people in charge decided to eschew the united energy infrastructures of the east and west. On top of that, our houses and roads aren't built for this and we're getting floods due to burst pipes and now we are losing water also.

That said, I agree no power during the heat is also terrible. A few years ago I lost my air conditioner for two weeks in texas summer, I wanted to die.

I hope things get better for you. It was indeed a nightmare, and I need white noise to sleep so I was hot, sweaty and absolutely miserable. Meanwhile 5 minutes away my parents had power (I think they are on the emergency grid as they are close to a hospital). Eventually I just stayed over there instead cause it was too much. I live in a damn swamp so it gets real bad in the summer.

Seriously, I wish you and your family the best. No one should have to suffer because everyone up top is just a greedy fuck that doesn't do anything to actually help people.

Most states get recommendations on how to avoid a natural disaster in the future and then the power companies and politicians just simply ignore it. It is a fucking racket.

Chapter 5 was pretty meh, but Chapter 6, while bloated, really is absolutely amazing. And the epilogue is like a sweet cherry on top. I loved RDR1, so playing 2 and getting all the good backstory was truly wonderful for me. I recently just started listening to the sound track and Arthur's last ride is just such a great moment.

Unless, TC beat it with low honor. In which case the ending is not as good. High honor all the way.

Goldeneye >= Tomorrow Never Dies >>> TWINE >>>>>> DAD

Tomorrow Never Dies is the underrated one.

I actually think Tomorrow Never Dies has grown in relevance. A media mogul that is manufacturing terrorist attacks to drive up viewership and become a monopoly? That sounds quite salient in 2021. Just, when people talk about Brosnan TND is almost never ever brought up. It is "Goldeneye is awesome, Die Another Day sucks! TWINE is bad!" and then everyone forgets TND. I think both TWINE and TND get more dislike than they deserve. Die Another Day is the only one that is just actively bad throughout.

Die Another Day is the weakest Brosnan film, what is this topic? TWINE is at least more memorable than Tomorrow Never Dies. I think TWINE is a fine movie, just has a bad Bond girl ("I thought Christmas only came once a year?", barf). It has a zany villain with a weird quirk and some cool gadgets. The caviar factory set piece is awesome. As spikethedevil said, I think it's very underrated.

I love The Simpsons Game from 2007 though. Just a regular old platformer, and I loved the cel-shaded graphics and that the cutscenes were done in regular 2D cel animation. Plus being able to free-roam Springfield is awesome.

Shame they just.. stopped making Simpsons games.

Well they tried their hand at Futurama and Family Guy games at least, but I heard nothing but bad things about at least Family Guy. No clue how Futurama turned out.

@Kaldrenthebold That does sound kind of cool. I believe Project Gorgon is totally open world like that from what I played, you can see other people in dungeons and stuff. Also you get permanent curses if you get killed by bosses and the only way to remove the curse is to go back and kill the boss.

I'll take a look at it. There are basically two types of MMO games: Sandbox, and Theme Park. WoW and FF14 are theme park: you get a series of quest lines that basically funnel you from hub to hub where you complete the quests, level up, move onto the next encampment / city / base and rinse repeat all the way to the end. Sandbox ones say "just go do stuff in the world" with maybe a main quest to follow and some smaller quests, but the game is played as you wish. Just want to go kill things in an area to level up? Go for it and move onto the next area to grind your way to victory.

My big issue with a lot of Sandbox MMO games these days is they put a TON of focus on PVP stuff. Like having guild wars, groups running towns, lines of factions being fought over across the land and such. I was never a big fan of THAT kind of game, so I am still kind of lost. Vanguard Saga of Heroes was a nice mix of sandbox and theme park. Pantheon is from the original creators of EQ1 so I have some real high hopes for that one.

I loved waiting for boats and transportation in EQ1 and even WoW. Time to bond to other people and maybe form a party. Modern MMO's are so instanced and focused on being easy that they are pathetic to play. I miss the days of old MMO's and the actual feeling of "massive" in the MMO genre. Now I go into a dungeon and it's separated from the rest of the world except for me and my group of 3 others. I loved stumbling into a dungeon and seeing a bunch of other people exploring and making it feel like a WORLD.

Oh well. Pantheon Rise of the Fallen has my interest if it ever comes out.

Great game. Gets a bunch of hate for no real reason. Be sure to do the side quests.

There's a lot to hate about it, actually. The game is clearly the middle of a trilogy and nothing is really solved or done in terms of the plot moving forward. It is heavily pared down and does NOT feel like a global conspiracy, but a very small scale plot dealing with Prague. The gameplay is better, the side quests are awesome, but only being in one HUB area and with a main plot line that barely exists means the game is a huge step down from HR. It feels like it just spins it wheels and then just ends.

Call it innovative or not but I can't think of another AAA shooter with this level of animation work while also not controlling like ass or feeling sluggish to play.

Also, THIS is the gameplay video I saw at release that really showed me how cool the game is to play for real. I expected something like this, not a bullshot E3 demo.

Dude, Im pretty sure youre not watching the video I posted, it wasnt a scripted event in the slightest even though those DO exist in the game.

i had moments like that in the game, did you play it?

I've watched the video countless times when it was shown. I was extremely hyped. I probably watched it more than you did. I beat the game and the AI is not smart on at least hard. The part with Ellie where you need to steal the boat I had a pile of bodies in the same spot and the idiots just kept coming. The animations are top notch, but ND has been the king of them for a long time now. I've had plenty of scary and intense encounters and you've missed the point where I said I enjoy how the game plays.

You also seemed to have missed the entire rest of the post talking about how they manipulate media in a particular way to make it seem cooler than it is for E3. It's a trick as old as time. I gave the exact part from the E3 trailer played by some random guy and it's not at all the same way, especially the end (which you mention being tossed around dynamically which again, is scripted unlike your claim)

I'm getting tired of this. The game is very fun to play. It's not unique. That is basically it.

youre not even referencing the moment in the video Im talking about, which isnt E3 footage.

go to the 1 minute mark, thats active game play.

That is an E3 bullshot demo (the entire thing) set up specifically to make it look more interesting than it is. 100%. I've played the game. I've been around long enough to know how E3 demos are set up and how the games change once they release.

Here's the example from TLOU1:

https://youtu.be/kbLOokeC3VU?t=369

Gameplay demo from E3 2012. This end section with the shotgun is not in the final game, nor are any of the animations and scenarios presented in that small bit. Why? To make it seem more personal, interesting, and cooler than it was.

Why are you falling for it?
