I've had conversations with coworkers about nonbinary actors on shows we watch and afaik, I haven't misspoken in situations like that when there are no stakes, so when talking to the actual person, I think I would get used to it quickly and not say the wrong things. I didn't say anything at all about how not to react if I did slip up, but I actually had a similar talk with two of my friends whom have come out as transgender or non-binary recently, apologizing in advance if I did slip up and use the wrong pronouns, and making sure they knew that if it occurred, it wasn't due to a lack of respect at all. They were both very understanding, especially since they acknowledged that I'd known them under what turned out to be incorrect pretenses, so they realized that there would be a period of adjustment. --- "You need a hobby.
