Before the pandemic, I used to do bar crawls with my girlfriend and invite some coworkers, eventually we would eat at one bar to keep from getting sick but most of the bars we just got a drink, soaked in the atmosphere, and moved on. Other than those, I don't regularly go to bars.

Games have enjoyable writing but yeah, sorry, even the ones claimed to have "good writing" are about as deep as your average Marvel popcorn flick. I enjoy video game stories like I enjoyed Choose Your Adventure type books as a kid, it's not material that's gonna make you question life or your values but it's a fun story you can usually influence in some way. A video game story just needs to be good enough to make me want to keep killing things.

Agreed. I think if we would have gotten stimulus checks back in August or whenever it got shut down again, and someone would have had the balls to tell him to lay off on the crazy Twitter ravings, I think he could have won again. Dude was just determined to look as stupid as possible all through election year.
TopicIs "nice guys finish last" the truth?
PesticideDream

"Nice guys" are usually only nice because they think it's a path to getting sex. As soon as they're rejected, the niceness is quickly gone. Women like a man who is polite and a good person but doesn't put her on a pedestal as The Queen and act like her servant; dude still needs to be a leader and put his foot down and have confidence in himself. But for some reason, confidence is a "bad boy" trait now, and that's stupid.

If we brush under the rug false reports and staged hate crimes and destroying a person's life because they used a black hairstyle in Animal Crossing and policing every word under the sun, hardcore liberals are very sane people. Yes, "both sides" do have extremist issues, but the right is in a worse place right now.

Yeah, I love it. I love being by myself, I love alone time, I love doing things my own way. The only annoying part about it is, people that think introversion is the same thing as social anxiety or being lonely. Many people like me, I love to hangout with people but I restrict social interactions pretty much only to the weekends, or just one day a week. Some people don't quite understand it but I'm always upfront and tell them I like to be alone.

Assassin's Creed: Odyssey. I always wish there were more games in the Ancient Greek times, and the world in this game is beautiful but that's about it. TopicWhy do married people cheat?
PesticideDream
12/15/20 9:23:08 PM

Usually it's people who started out in love or maybe even married out of obligation (had a child together), and then after years and years they just drift apart and the passion isn't there anymore. Or they get bored of the same person and feel a need to explore what's out there. By that point, divorce could be a very messy thing so they keep it on the downlow. I've known some people who married as teens or young adults, and by the time they hit 30s, they've grown into two very different people who don't care for each other anymore, or feel like they missed out.

Skimming through the review, it sounds pretty reasonable. It mostly sounds like someone who wanted more depth to the world and factions, and didn't like how the main story felt "urgent" but you could dick around for awhile (honestly, this is something the majority of open world games struggle at, so this is no big deal to me). The bugs thing sounds pretty bad, but even Witcher 3 had a good amount of glitches I could ignore.

They said what I wanted to hear though, that the side missions were a lot of fun.

TopicWhy are modern book covers so garbage?

I think there's still some very good book covers, and I do totally judge books by the cover. I don't know why they sometimes go for the minimalist, generic covers. Seeing covers like that, just makes my brain think it contains a generic story as well. Maybe there's some data out there that shows people are more prone to buy the boring ones, who knows. A book with some well-done or even simple but elegant artwork makes it feel even more amazing.

All of the superhero movies are ok popcorn flicks, but I think people get way too obsessed with them. Some are worth another watch, most of them are just by-the-numbers action flicks.

The Shining is a great movie until you read The Shining, then it just seems hollow and dumbed down.

I don't really know how the internet defines "toxic", it seems to change it's meaning pretty often to just hate on certain characteristics, but the way I see it is:

Mean Girls types. Women that bully other women for not being pretty enough, or girly enough, or whatever.

Women in the workplace that berate and hold down other women. I've worked with a lot of women, and my girlfriend has as well, there's constant conflict and I've had female bosses that just shit on the lower level female employees. My girlfriend has had experiences with older women bullying her specifically because she was younger.

I don't know if this fits the meaning, but some women love to talk down to you like a child, or lecture you. They do this to men and other women.

And also just general passive aggressiveness women do with each other.

I feel like men that claim that women can't be toxic never have much experiences around them. They can be major assholes just as well as men.

It's mostly filled with fear-mongering BS and complete negativity, and most of it is stuff that has no effect on your life but to bring you misery. It's not bad to take a glance and stay up-to-date, but most people are binging on it 24/7, and that's an addiction rather than "staying informed".

My mother loves the news, devours it all day, and always has to call and tell me about how this person over in another city died or there was a puppy that was killed by teenagers over in who-the-fuck-knows or what the devious liberals are up to now. It's just stuff to get agitated about that you have zero control over.

Sports games are usually the most fun to play, some of my best memories are with sports games. It's just a dumb thing to say.
