I remember people surmising that the use of white is to imply virginity as the monster was believed to stand-in as a STD allegory and the dangers of sex.

About the film, I will say there is certainly something unsettling about the fact that the monster, when going in for the kill, takes on the shape of your parent when it violently humps you to death to the point your bones are broken and your flesh is torn asunder.

I'm loving it so far. A game like this is really what I was in the mood for right now.

I'm actually the same as you. I played it before up until I unlocked the jobs system but then stopped playing for reasons I can't even remember.

So once I get to that point again everything will be new to me.

This topic makes me want to pick it up again.

Ever play 6? It may have the toughest start of any entry in the series. I think I remember being near the end and mastering classes. I forget why I stopped though.

Yeah. I'm like 30 hours in.

How do you like it so far? I played up to when I could use jobs and then had to stop, but I was really digging how massive the game was. Apparently, it's not uncommon to put in over 100 hours into it.

Anything with Pam Grier is fun from Foxy Brown, Coffy, Sheba Baby, Friday Foster and Black Mama White Mama and ensures a good time. Cleopatra Jones and the sequel are worth seeking out as well after you've gone through the Grier material.

As for the men, Jim Brown in Slaughter and Slaughter's Revenge along with Isaac Hayes in Truck Turner are up there. I like the Shaft but not so much the sequels or TV show and would rather follow it up with Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song and Superfly. The latter especially because it's by Gordon Parks, Jr who is the son of Gordon Parks, the director of Shaft. It also has Ron O'Neal who was up for the role of Shaft but passed over because his skin color was considered too light. Black Caesar also gets a nod. Oh, and Hammer! And Cotton Comes to Harlem / Hell Comes to Harlem also. Matt Cimber's Candy Tangerine Man and also Lady Cocoa are suggestions for anyone wanting more of a thriller / crime film than action.

Huge shoutout to Penitentiary. If you like Rocky, check out this series with Leon Isaac Kennedy as a boxer that is wrongly incarcerated. The sequel has him brawl against Mr. T one month before he fights Rocky in Rocky III.

For horror, Blacula and Scream, Blacula, Scream as William Marshall elevates the material above what you may expect. Sugar Hill gets a mention for combining voodoo and revenge. Devil's Express has Warhawk Tanzania (awesome name) kung-fu fight a demon in New York's subway tunnel. Ganja and Hess is another vampire outing and stars Duane Jones of Night of the Living Dead fame in another major role. Welcome Home, Brother Charles is something nobody has really seen before. A man seeks revenge by increasing the length of his penis to choke those who wronged him. Stay away from the Soul Vengeance edits of the film.

Sorry TC, but your memory is playing tricks on you.

To start with, Carrie Fisher isn't listed even in an uncredited role on her IMDB page: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000402/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1 As you'll notice, even if a person isn't listen in the film's credits, the film will still show up as an entry with the notation of uncredited. See her role in 1991's Hook and 1997's Austin Powers for example.

As you can see, nothing about Carrie Fisher.

The scene you described is not how it plays in the film. The placement is incorrect as well. Julie dies at the end of the second act in the hospital. Nancy runs into Dr. Heffner and some nurses, neither are which are Carrie Fisher.


Nancy only speaks to one nurse as seen in the above photo. No double takes or anything of the sort.

The immediate scene after Julie and her demise is of Nancy leaving the hospital parking lot to find Dylan. This takes her to the highway where she rescues him from an incoming semi-truck. The scene after it is back at Nancy's home for the start of the third act which leads to the dream world and the showdown with Freddy. Nancy does visit the morgue, but it's way earlier in the story at the 34 minute mark and it is to see the body of her dead husband. Here is the morgue staff. Notice they are all men.

Nancy never performs a double take when speaking to any of them. When shown the body of her deceased husband, she does ask to see more of it. As for the morgue attendant she talks to:

It's none other than W. Earl Brown who would go on to play Kenny the camera man in Scream. Strangely enough, Drew Barrymore was up for the role of Julie in this film but couldn't play the role due to scheduling issues. Anyhow, Brown / morgue attendant does a look of disbelief when meeting Nancy but it's likely because he recognizes her from the films as this is a running element throughout the story. However, he never asks about her.

I think your brain is jumbling up everything. The scene order, when it takes place, who is in the scene are all incorrect. If anything, I believe you're merging this movie with the the scene in Scream 3 as Gale does a double take when meeting Carrie Fisher's character who heads up the studio archives. They even make a joke about how much she looks like Carrie Fisher (because she really is).

This has already caused an excess of people to go to libraries and other places to use their wifi and internet. The state had terrible COVID numbers although they have gone down the past few days.
