You give your money to a bank and they offer certain guarantees and protections, but then they turn around and use your money to make a profit and then don't give any of that to you. So if you believe that renting is fundamentally an immoral exercise, then you would probably have to make the same claim about the concept of banking.The difference there is you still own the money in your account.
