Somehow, my heating coil is working with the setting on emergency heat, maybe not as efficiently as it was but my house never got under 62 degrees and apparently people with working units couldn't get theirs up to that anyways. | Yazarogi 02/15/21 9:59:23 AM #14 | Kansas is getting fucked, lost power at 2 AM. well I didnt realize the heat pump shouldnt be turned on immediately after a power outage that lasts longer then 30 minutes (it was roughly 3 hour outage) and fell asleep before the power came back on, I guess if you dont want for the refrigerant to thaw after that it can do something called coolant slugging so really hoping the power outage wasnt a $1,500 issue despite not being my fault and not understanding that mechanism of the heat pump.
