I also remember how awesome this looked. In hindsight I'm disappointed it didn't turn into an actual game. Obviously it was just a tech demo to show off the power of the GameCube but that's all the Luigi's Mansion demo was supposed to be as well... |

The real problem is something you yourself touched on:That's partly true but I still don't think if I was a kid today I'd see the PS5 trailer and be hyped about it (oh it's got the same Spiderman game that looks identical to the PS4 game - cool). Maybe it's the fact that new consoles don't have the massive noticeable upgrade in graphics that they use to. The last time I noticed a huge difference was the launch of the HD era |

Yoshipizza5 08/22/20 9:35:31 PM #1 | The trailer for the Gamecube is still the most hype moment I've ever experienced in gaming: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Swpn8qYhFs This absolutely blew my mind as a youngster and really felt like the "future is here" type moments. The Link-Gannondorf fight, Metroid shown after a large absence in the N64 era, Luigi finally in his own game, hundreds of Pokemon rendered on screen at once and a Perfect Dark sequel. This is how you sell a console, it's a shame we don't have these kind of reveals anymore - the PS5 & Xbox X are ridiculously tame compared to this. |
