Basically, super edgy revenge-fic that I just can't look away from. I mean, it's clearly running on shock value, but I just can't help to see how far it can go.

Also kinda reveals the mindset of both the people who identify with the protagonist & those who just knee-jerk react. I mean, sure the protagonist is basically a revenge power fantasy that takes the form of raping everybody, but most people forget the REVENGE part. He isn't doing anything that wasn't done to him first. In fact, given that the princess used drugs to control him & locked him away in her sex dungeon where everybody from the maids to the knights took a turn with him when she didn't have a use for him, his response of wiping her memory to be his obedient sex toy is WAY too merciful.

It basically is. Most job applications are a waste of time, if you don't know anyone behind the hiring process. You've literally got a better chance at the lottery, simply because someone HAS to win eventually; no one ever has to get hired.

The only thing I truly remember about The Cosby Show, is that I liked the theme song. I always changed the channel after that. I think what truly defined it, is that it depicted an affluent black family in a positive light.

For most businesses, it's less a matter of "can't" than "don't want to". Business primarily seek to maximize the prosperity of their executives & shareholders, which has a high preference for minimizing cost. Most business wouldn't pay you at all, if they could, which is can be seen in unpaid internships.

This is just a small win, but people really need to learn that nothing has any inherent monetary value, beyond what you're willing to pay for it, & corporations will charge whatever they believe will net them the most profit.

Hard fact is that bringing death is more useful than protecting life. If you're good enough at death, you can eliminate those you don't like, threaten others to obey you, protect yourself from external forces, hunt to provide food, & generally do what you want because no one will dare challenge you. The immediate value of saving people isn't nearly as prominent.

I'd say its a combination of "it's what I grew up with" for older players, & that most modern fighters either started there or follow the template of games that did. It's probably why the FGC hates SSB (& most games like it) so much; it's basically a game that throws out the standards the FGC has polished.

This should be more than enough proof for anyone who was ever skeptical of white privilege in America. George Floyd protests had a much stronger response at much lower stakes. I've been referring to it as "openly casual" until now, but the coup is just open, now.

Sex scandals & hush money just seem to be standard practice in big business, at this point. It's not right, but it's too accepted & the direct beneficiaries are the people in power you would need to change it.

Well, you can't just inject those into other shows. This is a potential method to insert extended messages into more popular content, especially if the practice for Youtube's ad skip function were to change. With Youtube's ad system, you basically gain access to the ENTIRE Youtube viewership.

Was watching videos on my phone, so didn't have adblocker, & came across an "ad" that was +30:00. I watched quite a lot of it to see how... legit it was, & after about 20 minutes, decided to finally hit the skip button. It's very much an entire video, disguised as an ad. That seems HIGHLY open for potential exploitation.

The ad in question is for some psychology dating system called The Desire System for those curious, but the thing I want to discuss here, is that someone has managed to stealth an entire video presentation as an ad.

Kinda true, when you get down to it. I can't think of any male hobby that has never been criticized with the notion of "getting a girl" if you spend what is deemed too much time on it. Certain ones are just deemed lower than others.

Part of the reason for it, is that deep down, base nature & base instincts would prefer males dedicate their time towards the comfort & safety of females. Problem is that humans managed to mostly break out of the loops of nature, but their influence is still there.

Cyberpunk is kinda the hot topic regarding that subject. Rather difficult to pretend like it doesn't exist. Game glitches aren't new, it's just that a lot of older ones are things players learned to live with, in the absence of patches & such.

Not exactly a new opinion, if that's what you're getting at. The difference between that & Cyberpunk is that Pokemon debuted in the 90's, it's players were heavily kids, Gamefreak wasn't high profile at the time, & coding wasn't as widely known back then.

Nintendo claims it's because they're forming their own program. Whether this is the case or not, I can almost assure you that Nintendo's events will NOT be what you want them to be, assuming they do happen. Realistically, IP law gives corporations a lot of reach for how their properties are used, even if a lot of those rights aren't exercised too often, this IS their right to decide if they want their properties to be used in such a manner. If you don't like it, either pick someone less strict to deal with or make your own game, where you don't have to suffer someone else at all.

Even if Nintendo is targeting competitive scenes, I can't fully blame them. Most competitive scenes inevitably have an undesirable element that Nintendo probably doesn't want to be associated with.

Let's be honest, there's very few jobs most people couldn't become adequate at, given an opportunity & time to learn it. From some of the basic mistakes, it's also clear to see that many of the upper caste are NOT the super savvy wizards of wisdom & skill they'd like you to believe they are.

Zaheer's ideology was portrayed in an extremely stupid way

then in season 4 Korra starts a civil war and turns to her best friend (who just so happens to be Henry Ford's daughter) to help stop it. the villain in this season is an outright fascist, who is also portrayed much more positively by the show than Amon or Zaheer

Really, S1 brought a lot of issue that were worth discussing. The biggest issue is the disparity between benders & non benders, which has one of its most powerful scenes when the non benders are pleading to Korra that as Avatar, she has a duty to protect them too. It's honestly an issue that needs to be discussed more, but the nature of how Korra was originally just a "oneshot", means they had to wrap up their loose ends relatively quickly.

Kuvira was also another divisive moment. Her overthrowing the monarchy to instate her regime might be questionable, but almost every instance of the Earth Kingdom royal family tends to embody the most negative aspects of incompetent nobles. It was kinda hard to argue they didn't deserve to be overthrown.

Avatar is a series with a lot of elements of nuance, but it's all overshadowed for the "obviously evil" big bad.

You know this is potentially possible, depending on what you define as a "villain". The avatar world is moving towards industrialism, & Korra wound up opening the gates to the spirit world. If the avatar had to weigh decisions between the progress of human industrial & corporatism against the traditionalism of spirituality & the environment, the side opposite of the one they pick would see them as a villain. It's a potentially interesting angle, but I doubt it'd happen after how Korra went overall.

Ridiculous that she compares this to drugs, when for a kid that young, the real issue is probably that they fail to understand the notion that "game money = real money", & just want more powerups/characters. Either way, it just seems like tempting fate for this sort of thing if you leave card information on a device that children can easily access.

Since it doesn't look like aggregate services will catch on, the most likely outcome is going the a surge in piracy & whatever the response is to that. Sad truth is that most streaming subscriptions are maintained primarily for only one or maybe two shows; the only people who seriously maintain a CBS All Access subscription being hardcore Star Trek fans, is a shining example.

It's not weird or even slightly surprising, if you think about it. Netflix got into the market because no one saw how profitable it could be, making all your shows easily available online. Once high speed internet was widespread enough that the barrier of entry was low, the content providers eventually began to see how they could do what Netflix & Hulu were doing, but keep all the money from it, instead of licensing their content to someone else. From there, every company that could, has tried to be their own little content fiefdom. There's really nothing truly to distinguish them from each other, besides what content they have, so you have attempt to bolster their libraries by acquiring other content, such as Disney acquiring Fox & Apple TV buying the rights to the Charlie Brown special. From there, all the content you actually want to watch is divided across multiple services, leaving you essentially paying multiple subscriptions if you want to watch "everything". Really, the only thing I'm surprised about, is that the concept of aggregate services such as VRV haven't caught on, which would have completely brought us full circle to what is essentially cable.

I mean, we already allow potentially fatal substances with addictive qualities such as alcohol & nicotine, so why fight it? The only difference between this hypothetical & existing substances, would be how lethal & addictive it was, but you say it's within all laws. The only piece of advice I'd have at this point, would be to use his new wealth to fend off politicians & special interests who are out to make his new vice illegal. At worst, he might need to make some PR gesture actions for the illusion of "accountability".

It might be morally reprehensible, but what big corp wasn't built on some ethical questionably?

Because most American comedy shows, especially with cartoons, don't have any sense of consistent logic or plot, unless it's relevant to a joke. For example, Cleveland is mentioned to have a brother in early Family Guy, who even appears to save him from a drug gang in The Cleveland Show, but Cleveland is written as an only child once his parents become consistent characters, & that says nothing of Cleveland Jr. essentially becoming a derivative of Chris, which was even pointed out.

Resumes & applications are inefficient ways of job seeking, anyway. If you want to really apply for a job, taking the hiring manager out for a beer is far more expedient. Most REAL hiring happens between networking & informal introductions.

The problem is that Nintendo has a lot of popular trademarks that are highly recognized. It results in people feeling entitled to capitalizing on them, & feeling as though Nintendo has enough money that they shouldn't care. Combine that with the generic contempt for Nintendo, & I'm pretty sure some people would unironically defend me if I started openly selling bootleg Mario games, under the right conditions. Disney suffers the same problem; people have a problem accepting that certain things are corporate IPs & those companies have rights to how, where, & who uses them.

Man, KFC has had some interesting marketing campaigns lately; first that dating sim & now this. Besides the marketing campaign to Sanders into some kind of sex meme, I have to question what is Sanders' purpose in a Lifetime movie.

Showdown isn't that well known outside of Pokemon's hardcore circles, & relative to the Melee situation, doesn't involve promoting roms or emulators. Given that Dueling Network was shutdown & every other Yugioh simulator has been lying low ever since, Nintendo might respond someday, but it's unlikely, given that Showdown is just a battle simulator instead of a full Pokemon game.

Though more importantly, I don't know how ANYONE thought Nintendo would be cool with emulating for roms of their games, whether it's in production or not. I'll agree that it's weird that most Gamecube games are unavailable on Nintendo's digital store optons, but Nintendo's foundation business principle is software that drives hardware, & that's a direct undermining of it. Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with Nintendo claiming Let's Play videos or their overall attitude to non monetized fan projects, but that's partially an issue in changing technology that all companies are having trouble adjusting to. Still, it's just ridiculous the amount of stuff fans expect that companies should just let them do, because they want to & feel the company has enough money that they shouldn't care.
