How'd you make it to season 3 if dick jokes have you this confused

I understood perfectly up until that one scene. It just doesn't make any sense and the writers wouldn't waste their time putting that in if it wasn't intended to be funny.

If anyone has HBO max or Amazon prime the scene starts at: 16:57

Season 3 episode 1 of VEEP.

I will bless you with a million good karma points if someone gets this properly cleared out.

You act like they haven't fucked before.

The groom's reaction made no sense. If the scene was written with an intent to be funny then you would assume the groom to make a better reaction than simply okay. You'd expect some kind of remark that reacts to the offensive "you're exaggerating" comment. Otherwise what is the point of scripting that scene altogether?

If I didn't know any better, I'd say that was a penis joke...
but if it was a penis joke, then why would the groom show a positive reaction when the bride said he was exaggerating? At first I thought it was a penis joke as well, implying that the groom had half an inch of penis for the bride. If that was the case, the bride's reaction by saying he was exaggerating would lead to a more negative reaction from the groom. Instead he laughs and says okay showing a positive reaction. This is the part I don't understand. The groom was just insulted for having a small penis, he would be upset or be ready for some kind of retort, but he doesn't and laughs instead. Therefore, I think a penis joke wasn't intended and is something else instead.

I was watching season 3 of VEEP episode 1 and I came across a scene that I found confusing.

The scene starts off with a guy saying to cut the cake half an inch to the bride. The groom goes beside the wife saying he has half an inch for her as she's cutting the cake. The bride smiles delicately and tells him that he's exaggerating. The groom laughs and says okay but his reaction shows that the context didn't seem like it was meant to be insulting. Why was this considered funny or what was the significance behind the bride saying that he was "exaggerating?"

Perhaps I'm suffering from early signs of dementia and am failing to understand the english language.

when I asked for a copy of the cancelled check, they couldn't provide me with an actual copy. I was shown the bookkeeping files (which was written in paper) that the check was sent, but wasn't authenticated by the bank. Meaning they just wrote in a piece of paper that they claimed to send me the check without showing me the "actual" check. Seemed fishy so I sent one long paragraph rant that I would report them to the AG for misconduct and make sure their company will be reviewed. Also I told them I would sue for 3x the deposit if I ever found out they kept my deposit in bad faith.

The very next morning I receive a text saying they sent me a new check. This time with tracking and first class priority mail shipped arrive in 3 days. To think all this could have been prevented if they actually sent the first check with tracking? *laughs at the incompetency of old time realtors* Snail mail is not the way to do business in 2020

The problem with having the stock is that your stuck on their platform. So if you acquired a bunch of coin on Robinhood then wanted to transfer your Crypto to a bank like Nexo, or Blockfi, so that you can actually earn interest on your savings you wouldnt be able to do that.

Unless you sell the asset for Fiat (USD, Euro etc.)

The problem with that though is that once you sell the asset you will have to pay capital gains taxes on whatever it increased by. Which is either 20% or 37% depending on whether it's long term or short term gains.

If you actually own your Crypto you'll be able to send it, make exchanges with it or do whatever you want without having to sell it for USD. So you wont be forced to pay those heavy taxes.

You can also even exchange your coin for other stable coins, like USDTether, which is a cryptocurrency that matches the USD in value. Even doing that you wont have to pay any capital gains taxes because you still technically are holding Crypto

This is very good to know. I was about to put in 10k on RB on crypto stocks like an idiot. So far I made $1000 on gains as BTC went up. If I sell, I'm going to pay 20-37% on taxes??? That is substantial srsly. I'm starting to think short selling stocks is a dumb idea now. I'm going to start holding.
Thank you kind sir for saving me from making a regrettable decision.

What's WB? I'm assuming RH is Robinhood. The problem with Robinhood is that you don't actually have custody of your coin. You can't transfer it to your own personal wallet or any other so you're effectively buying a stock and not actually acquiring Cryptocurrency

Ah I see. WB is webull.
What would be the benefit of actually owning the coin vs buying the stock then? With the stock, you're essentially making money the same way you would by owning the coin if the price of BTC goes up. Is it the different demand for people wanting the stock vs the actual currency?

so I'm curious is to way people pay a fee on other platforms to buy bitcoin when there is RH and WB to buy from without any commission?

I recently moved state and was expecting a check mailed to me from the realtor company I was renting an apartment from. It's been a month and I still haven't received anything after they claimed to send me my security deposit via standard mail. There was no tracking number btw which raised concern on the professionalism of this said establishment.

After pestering them for a week, the realtor company sent me a text claiming that the check was already cashed out. Which is ridiculous as I don't know if it's even possible to cash out a check without having proper identification? If it's possible than the security measures taken to authenticate the right person is seriously flawed. Does it really just take just a signature to validate someone's authenticity? Seems flawed as anybody can forge this with the proper attention to detail. This frustrates me to no end.

My question to you guys is:

What can I ask from the realtor company so that I can do the investigation on my own end? Would asking for a check number of the check they claimed to send in the mail suffice? What other information do I need? They have my private information: social security number, copies of my old w-2 and several signed documents with my signatures. I'm concerned that they can use my information, open up an account in my name and claim that I signed and cashed it in as myself. Opening up a bank account online doesn't require a picture ID, and I'm afraid anybody can do this as long as they know my SS, date of birth. Is that even a possible scenario?

I want to make sure that this company had every intent to pay me and not give me a bogus fraudulent run around. If I do find out they had no intention of paying me, I intend to sue not only for the amount of the deposit but also criminally charge them for fraud. (what else can I charge them for?) I want to be absolutely sure first before I take the steps to do this. Every precautionary measure is necessary for me as I don't want to point fingers at the wrong person just yet.

What questions will I need to ask this realtor company in order to gather evidence for myself?

Hentai covers a realm of fantasy that seems unrealistic and away from the show's actual story telling. I'm asking, in the world of OP through the creator's eyes, if it's a possibility that the two grew up from that possible scenario?

More specifically during the time line before the two met Luffy and his crew. Looking into Nami and Robin's history, they were both young girls amongst a sea of "bad" pirates. There's the realistic approach, that if there's one girl in a room with a hundred guys, you don't think at least one would act on their sexual desires? One Piece may seem like a cute fun loving series with some innocent themes, but there are some parts where regarding death that I find very dark. Which is why I consider the possibility of Nami and Robin's past being full of exploitation. It's disheartening to think about the show that way, but I'd like to leave it open for discussion.

it feels super simplistic and the structure is kinda clunky, some of the sentences are run on without the style to support them being run ons

The simplicity makes it feel like it's written from a middle schooler. I agree with the run on sentences. Can you explain to me the styles of writing that can support run ons?
smoke_break posted...
The content seems okay but there are a ton of run-on sentences. She should just use a period and start a new sentence. It would make it a lot easier to read.

I always wondered what causes people to write in run on sentences? Perhaps a lack of understanding of the English language? Or maybe texting and social media culture has an influence?

Thank you guys. There is 10 cookie points and karma blessings coming both your ways. Anybody else like to add on the critique?

It's been a while since I read a fanfiction. I can't seem to read this without the inner critic in me observing the syntax. I'm not sure if the writing style is off but I seemed to lose interest in the story. Can someone on this board try and elaborate more as to why? Perhaps you can tell me that I'm wrong and it's just a lack of understanding from my part? I want to be able to write better. For me to do so, being able to distinguish the styles of writing and what makes it good is crucial to me.

I will give 10 cookie points and a blessing of good karma to those that answer. My good karma points will help you find love and happiness in your life. Quite the incentive right?
