As I understand it, Sony doesn't have an exclusive license. If I remember correct, MLB sold semi-exclusive rights to 2K, where only they could produce MLB games, with the exception of console manufacturers... or that only 2k could make multi platform games, I forget the exact language.

The problem was 2k baseball was ass, and they gave up. As far as I know, other people can make baseball games, but nobody thinks it's worth the investment. That's why only the competitors are cheap arcade games.
