Broken slide mechanism aside, going all digital and having a proprietary memory card (which was different from their previous proprietary memory card) meant it was doomed at the start. The psp had so many failure points on it, the disc drive in particular being awful, the joystick was trash. It had way too many proprietary accessories. The vita had an entirely too small library, even if the hardware was good. Combine a disappointing library with the proprietary (and underproduced/over priced) memory cards.
