The CCP doesn't claim the camps don't exist (well they used to, but they stopped doing it a long time ago), they claim they're reeducation camps to stop terrorist extremism. It's not a matter of is it happening, it's a matter of if you're okay with what's happening.

It's possible that's all they are, re-education camps. That's not the same as genocide.

Believing that they're real is a whole other matter. I'm not supporting China, but I think the world has got so strange and disconnected from previous ideas of reality and fact that things can no longer be taken at face value.

There's about as much possible evidence it's happening as there is evidence it's not happening. I'm neutral and don't want to condemn the CCP outright until I'm convinced. I'm also deeply concerned about the US government and intelligence community manipulating the news, history and our sense of reality.

I don't trust anyone.

That sucks. 2020 has probably been the most productive year for gaming I've ever had. And not even because of Covid either.

I've already finished about 20 games so far.

I've watched around 360 movies so at least I've been getting busy with something I enjoy. But like I was really eager to play through Deadly Premonition as the sequel looked very much like my kind of thing and then my interest fizzled out. I've been trying to finish Trails in the Sky for almost a year now

I think I've played multiple Final Fantasy games this year. I haven't finished a single game though. The last game I finished was Digimon Cyber Sleuth last year and that took me a year to finish. I have trouble seeing games through to the end.

I tried writing with the intention of publishing through amazon thinking some weirdo might be into it. I thought I'd written a lot but it was barely enough to be considered a novella, I keep meaning to get back to it but I wrote it in a weird way that's hard for me to get my head around all over again. Basically came off as a William S. Burroughs knock-off but with magical girls and transgender cyborgs instead of young gay men.

I love letterboxd. Haven't been able to 100% record everything I've seen just because I've seen a lot and it's been a while and I don't have everything on DVD, but it's fun. Just love writing dinky reviews. Sometimes I put effort into 'em, usually not.

I saw something from you pop up on the front page recently, I wondered where I'd followed you from. And I'm one of the two people you're following, cool. Do you have a job? That seems to be a major way of meeting people. I made a friend for the first time since school last year, but I met him through my fiancee. I've always been able to form romantic relationships but friendships have been terrifying generally and fill me with anxiety. So yeah plenty of years being single and with no friends just stuck with dark thoughts.

Therapy of some sort can help to deal with both the loneliness and learning skills to improve your life. I would highly recommend it if it's available to you. Life doesn't have to be like that

I treated people like crap until I was 28 I guess, I'm 30 now. I had a relationship where I was abused quite badly and that was very traumatic, but I also had severe jealousy and trust issues in previous relationships and would make fun of my partners more than just light teasing. I was very mentally ill and trying to seek treatment but not getting any, but it doesn't completely absolve me of responsibility.

At least I've always been a good dad and I'm trying to be the best partner I can in my relationship now. People I know can see I've quite clearly changed and grown up. Also cut down on drinking, the worst behaviour would come out when drunk.

I have hobbies and interests that I do at home, they're all more fun while drunk. Not that I drink often at home now but there's nothing wrong with it. Movies and TV are funnier, more enjoyable. Music sounds better. Gaming is more enjoyable as long as you don't get too drunk. Writing and making music while drunk can be good. Cooking while drunk is risky but it's quite nice to use red wine in a dish then finish the bottle off

I'm very picky about what anime I watch and try to avoid anything that leans too heavily into anime tropes. Anyway I'm watching Land of the Lustrous which seems to be working for me, I was hesitant about the cgi but it's so damn pretty.

Got a lot of other shows I want to watch and some movies, I could really do with rewatching Akira and I need some more Ghost in the Shell in my life.

Revolutionary Girl Utena is my favourite show by far
