Id suggest keeping a journal. Even if you dont write very much, some bullet points or a sentence or two about your day will help you keep track of your life. Also make sure to get a decent sleep every night. Sleep is when your brain kind of reorganizes itself and makes sense of what happened during the day, and if you arent sleeping well, the processes involved in memory formation and retention are affected.

The long-term fix though is treating your depression. Its good that youre trying to get help from your doctors. Sorry they arent really hearing you. Keep trying - its worth it, and you will feel better one day once youre finally able to connect with the right people and treatments. Look up psychiatrists and psychologists in your area, phone a few, and ask their offices directly about getting an appointment if your primary care doctor isnt taking initiative to refer you to anyone. If youre already seeing someone for your mental health and youre not seeing improvement, switch doctors. Switch medicines. Try a different type of therapy. You can overcome this eventually.

I hate drunk drivers. Its one of the stupidest crimes one can commit. Theres no excuse to drive drunk, ever. Its not like some emergency came up that required you to get behind the wheel inebriated, and you cant do it by mistake either, so youre choosing to endanger others. If youre drinking, you need to either arrange a ride home from the plethora of options available (sober friend, taxi, Uber, walking, bus, volunteer ride service specifically for drunk people, etc.) or plan to stay where you are until youre sober. There should be a mandatory minimum of 1 year of jail time for first time offenders.

I had to call for my Dad a year or two ago. Hed had surgery and was back home after a month or two in hospital. I guess he had gone to the bathroom and was going back to bed when he blacked out and fell hard. He seemed alright to me, conscious and calm after initially panicking, but he said he couldnt get up and wanted me to call an ambulance, so I did. My Mom has called 911 for him probably 30+ times so it was nothing new really, except she wasnt home so I had to.

Ive talked to 911 dispatchers before when the phone has been passed to me during other calls. Once, my Dad was having a heart attack so my Mom called but then went to help him while I gave our address and stuff. Another time, our neighbour had locked out his Brazilian girlfriend (met online, flew her to Canada) who spoke almost no English and had no phone, and shed apparently sat outside on the street crying all night until my Mom saw her when she went to walk our dog. Again, I gave address details while my Mom consoled her and gave her food and water. That was an interesting morning.
