I've never been super into Star Wars. The movies were great as a modern day retelling of greek mythology, but they were all pretty surface level, no deep character development or storytelling going on. Good popcorn movies.

Mandalorian has been awesome so far, though. Great writing, characters. Sweet western, bounty hunter type feel to it. Anyways, I had no idea what was going on at the end, except that I thought that Jedi was a fucking badass. Then he spoke and I recognized his voice, and I thought maybe it was like a clone of Luke or something, or like a love child lol?

Anyways after I came here and read this stuff I thought it was pretty fucking hype. Actually the more I read made me realize that maybe the non-movie stuff actually did have some depth to it, and it made me want to check out where all these characters I've seen this season come from. Probably gonna check out Clone Wars now!

kinda weird that you think Mandalorian is deeper and has better writing than the movies. What movies have you even seen?

What's really happening here is Disney is preparing him now so that when they decide to make new movies/tv shows/whatever set sometime in the more distant future they have a readymade new Yoda character for more cheap nostalgia pandering.

I've re watched this film so much as a teen cause I had no cable and owned a few DVDs so I just watched this everyday I loved it. I memorized the entire script at one point and I still could sit down and watch this now even.

The action scenes are so fun. The Architect scene is so wordsy and funny but kinda cool too. The movie gets way too much hate.

It could've been a good movie if it had paid off the Rey darkside turn teasing and actually done something substantial to shake up the trilogy. Instead it awas a boring slog with bad plots everywhere, some of the worst individual scenes in all of Star Wars, and it either doubled down on or ignored all of the problems that started in TFA.

Well I've only seen 7 eps of Mando but both Clone Wars cartoon series and Rogue 1 are comfortably better than what I've seen so far. I hope it picks up soon.

Yeah if it would drift a bit closer to Clone Wars I think I'd like it. It already looks and sounds beautiful but the so-so acting and some of the scenes can be a bit jarring for something that otherwise looks very high budget.

Yeah it can be dumb like that sometimes. And thats one of my favorite episodes of the series, but its marred by weird scenes like that. Thankfully the final 2 episodes of the season seem to take themselves more seriously.

I think it's been my favorite one so far and I was really into it up until Mando sneaks up on the Twilek girl and bald asshole guy and the scene just cuts away instead of us getting to see him beat them up. They were huge douchebags and I wanted to see them get what they deserve. I guess being trapped on an abandoned ship and dehydrating to death is acceptable too though and a lot more kid friendly since kids won't actually comprehend that that's what is going to happen to them.

I might be too picky but this show seems kind of average so far with some pretty stupid moments. Like in S1 Ep6 where that fat old guy sends Mando and those other 4 assholes to rescue the guy off the prison ship. When they get back the fat guy is happy to have his friend rescued but seems unaffected at all that his other 4 friends presumably died during the mission, THEN as Mando is leaving fat guy tries to kill him I gues because he actually was upset about his other friends not making it back but I didn't really get that from watching and it just seemed like a poorly laid out nonsense scene. It's Saturday mornings cartoons quality at times and not in a good way. Just real basic stuff that doesn't always make sense.

I mean if he can get away with just doing what he wants all the time that's pretty cool. There's probably gonna come a time in his life where he can't though and struggles mightily with that.
