If you've driven in very heavy rain then that's a decent starting point for understanding how the roads will feel. I mean, obviously the roads will be worse than during a thunderstorm, but it's something I'm sure you can relate to. I mean, yeah you can get really good at driving in the snow. Like doing donuts in a huge snow covered parking lot is a ton of fun. I used to pull my e brake going around turns when the roads were empty at night. Making your car fishtail can be pretty fun too. The point is that driving safe should just be common sense. Start slow and increase speed until you no longer feel in control. It can be more complicated than that, but it really doesn't need to be. I'm worried about other people more then myself. Also you know that common sense isn't really that common. But yes people can learn to do donuts and stuff, you deal with it all the time so I'm sure you and everyone that lives up there is experienced in it. Down here is a different story and to expect peope to just know how is silly. People do have basic knowledge of what to do if your fish tailing and stuff but actually experience things and doing it in the moment is different then learning about it. Not to mention people will panic once they feel they are losing control. Got to start experiencing games from: the Atari/C64/amiga 500; what life was like before: the internet, cell phones, and streaming. Experience the marvel of technology grow as I do is amazing and I would lose appreciation for it if I didnt have those experiences. So I would the time I was born now in the family I was born in everytime. You just can't be exposed to cold like that. You're gonna get frostbit. We get wet and icy snow up here among many other types. I've driven in blizzards all of my life. The snow isn't worse. You guys just suck at driving in that weather. Drive in it all your life and you'll get the feel for snow and ice on the road and when to hit the brakes or gas and not lose control of your vehicle. Seriously just brake early and brake often. And yeah we definitely have tons of snowplows at the ready and everyone has a snowblower and/or a bunch of snow shovels. I always keep a snow shovel in my car during the winter in case I get stuck. Snow really isn't that bad. Stop being so dramatic. We just went over this with covid. Clearing super market shelves over this stuff is kind of stupid. So many people hoard like they won't see daylight for a couple months. All the snow you get could also be entirely melted in a week or so. Snow up here tends to stick around for a while. Exactly why we suck at it. We haven't done it all our lives cause we dont live in that kind of environment. Texas doesnt have a bunch of snow plows at the ready cause it would be pointless to have them since we dont get snow except on super rare occasions. No one buys snow shovels becaus ewe dont get snow.
