One good thing about the game is that the special costumes are always base game, so the only thing you really miss out are the limited costumes they do from time to time. I don't play the game, but from what I've seen, Gil is mostly considered a poor character due to his average or less than stellar V Triggers (I and II, respectively). In constract, a character similar to Gil, Urien, performs MUCH better due to his insane V Triggers (more specifically, Aegis Reflector). Of course, it is not just the V-System in general, but it goes a long way in Street Fighter V, since the game revolves around that. Another example I've heard is Kolin vs Sagat. Kolin has a hard time against Sagat, I think it is due to his fast projectiles, and he has a punish against one of Kolin's get in moves, however, the dynamic of the match changes drastically as soon as Kolin ACTIVATES her V-Trigger (which I think it's V-Trigger II, it's the skating one). Note that I didn't say as soon as Kolin LANDS the V-Trigger, of course if she lands its better, but just by merely activating it, that's enough to change the match to her favor. So, one of the reasons the game could be disliked its the heavy focus on the V-System and how powerful it can be for some characters. Once more, I don't play Street Fighter V, but I've seen and heard quite a few things in between streams of pro players and tournaments. --- Maybe Ca_os and Proofpyros still have the drawings they made for me... |
