You say that, but they will follow orders whether just or not.
The military tends to be a different beast. They have enough power to either not abide by unjust orders or can remain neutral. Most people join for a wide range of reasons (college, citizenship, benefits, leg up in other careers), little of it tends to be cause they want power over individuals or if they do its towards those who have no affiliation to their home and even then that section encompasses maybe 3% of it (the GITSUM crowd).

Id be more worried about police forces, many of whom (not all obviously) join specifically because they want control and power trip towards their own communities and citizens. As well as being more willing to cover up and keep quiet about unjust events. of which police are much more easier to "deal with".

OT: Like every other similar statement they never actually think what goes into an actual fight nor do they care about contradicting their own words. if a government is willing to kill you, why the ever loving fuck wouldnt you want to atleast TRY to protect your self? "citizens dont need weapons of war" as said government threatens its own citizens with "weapons of war". saying an AR15 wont amount to anything while touting 1/6 almost ended democracy via 200 UNARMED idiots taking selfies.

Why do they restart the game? Not even ammo for it early on?
unless youre playing on easy theres a grand total of 12 extra rounds you find for the thing in a entire playthrough which is enough to beat nemesis once let alone the 8-9 times you can actually fight him. and crafting more takes a lot of gunpowder which means less ammo for everything else.

the GL is just more versatile. you can find more ammo for it and crafting ammo doesnt take as much resources. the freeze rounds for it are also the most powerful to use against nemmy. the only real downside is that he can dodge GL rounds, he cant dodge actual magnum bullets.

TopicIf Tomb Raider was basically Uncharted first, why isn't it nearly as fun?

the OG tomb raiders had a significant emphasis on puzzle solving, platforming and exploration with some combat sprinkled in. they didnt hold the players hand and were very unforgiving. but because of that there was a satisfaction in their elements.

the newer TR's lost a decent chunk of those elements by trying to go the uncharted route and by trying to cater to a wider audience. that said TR 2013 and Rise has better gameplay than any of the uncharted's with maybe the exception being gunplay, but then thats only really good in Uncharted 4. Uncharted is good at making its systems flow into each other, but individually there isnt much to any of them. their platforming is substantially more automatic, puzzles are basically spelled out for you, nothing really to explore that adds anything to the game. no real customization or upgrading for anything (not a huge deal). the gun play is good and it gives you some options in how to tackle that, but once again that aspect never really got fleshed out until 4.

shadow runs into a problem i had with U4 in that the pacing is kinda fucked. lots of long stretches of certain sequences with not much happening. but atleast with uncharted you had the writing to keep you interesting. TR has always had eithe rmediocre or shit writing, granted that was never what the series was about where as that was always what uncharted was about. Rise is a better personification of current TR. its systems are more fleshed out and its pacing isnt a mess (assuming you dont go nuts with the optional stuff).

Scholar of the First Sin is 2 with all dlc and "remastered" visuals.

as for which one is "better" then id go with 3. 2 is much longer of a game and it has some pretty unique stuff going for it, but its also really inconsistent with its design. for every great level, boss design or setup theres another that will probably piss you off. that said 2 is still good. there is not a bad game in this series.

not going to say its justification for shooting at someone, but there is a reason helmets and face shields are required to play paintball. you can get killed by them if hit in the right spots and you do have assholes who like to freeze the balls increasing the likelihood of severe damage.

an armed insurgency wouldnt be fighting the military. things would be bad enough with mutinies with in the system considering their political demographics. that would largely leave out major fire power that the military has access to of which its generally not a good idea to drone strike its own citizens in front of the whole world/country. its a good recipe to turn more of the citizenry against the system and makes other countries salivate at the thought of getting in on the fun. police would be the major threat who are much more susceptible to small arms fire.

its also not a good idea to snatch people up and cause shoot outs all over the place. the more of a ruckus they cause the more people take notice and start asking questions. i have no doubt they have the capability to make people disappear without a fuss, but given how shitty the system is already chances are high they are going to fuck up quite a bit, not to mention if things get bad enough people are already going to be on alert. probably not best to do that with tens of millions who could have a glock on their hip while out and about and an AR at their bedside.

its almost like a lot of different factors like a nations history and infrastructure along with the geographical location make for a completely unique living experience and its not as stupid as place good because all white
You can say the same for other countries and their gun laws. Outside of maybe the UK most European countries dont actually have that restrictive laws in place, atleast not much more (or in some cases less) than even california. i wouldnt really say its more the racial make up (though i do think theres some of that at play), but rather the other systems in place that tends to cut down on violent actions. easier access to healthcare, better job security, better access to education and college options, less wealth disparity, more optons when it comes to voting and parties to represent them ect. and a whole host of quality of life aspects which makes people more content with their lives (and more docile to an extent) which cuts down on the will to lash out for a host of other reasons.

though a good chunk of those aspects tends to come from money saved thanks tot eh US forking over obscene amounts of money to the UN for defense. money that then those countries can put into their healthcare, educations ect.

if the US had more social safety nets in place youd see significantly less gun violence and violence in general as well as suicides. theoretically you wouldnt even have to touch guns and piss over peoples rights to make a significant dent.

Mead posted... It should be tougher to get firearms by any means.

does this include just the gun or all the other extras on it?

Either way i paid for a Knights Armament SR15 (ar15) upper which was $1700 which is paired with a BCM lower that was around $300, so $2000 for the rifle.

if you you want to include all the other shit on it (acog, sling and mounts, steel back up sights ect.) then the total for the rifle is closer to $3200.

Probably wouldnt pay more than that unless i had fuck you money.

So every time you do anything in the house you bring your gun?
personally speaking for me its more of the ritual aspect of getting ready in the morning rather than if i feel i need it at home. put my pants on, belt on, wallet in back pocket, keys on the belt loop, phone on left hip, gun at 4o'clock position on right hip ect. if im home it doesnt mean im going to immediately take all of that off including the gun.

as far the likelihood of actually needing it, it tends to be low, but then there are many precautions everyone takes everyday that dont end up happening to them nor probably would ever happen to them (fire extinguishers for example. i own many of them yet never had a fire in my life, but i understand the importance of them and how bad of a situation you could be in if you didnt have one). its the same concept with a gun. better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. same thing with the AP ammo and body armor aspects. i like to cover my bases to the best of my ability.
