this one clearly can. because the question says it did. i'm not going to accuse the question of lying. clearly we're in a hypothetical world where roosters can lay eggs.

prosecutor themes is a thing, but AA1 doesn't have one. edgeworth and franziska kind of share one in JFA, though edgeworth takes it for himself later, but i think every other prosecutor has their own, as do the main prosecutor-role people in investigations

PW1 and JFA both good. PW1 better melody but JFA more sad. T&T and AJ both good, don't like the style of DD/SoJ.

AA1 Investigation Core is not necessarily my favourite track in the series, but I consider it to be probably the most iconic. It plays a lot during AA1, and at basically the most compelling points in the game other than Pursuit, but Pursuit is rarer. And I think it's just a really good track even without that.

It ranked really high the last time I did rankings, and most of what I had above it was post-trilogy so can't compete for iconicness really.

Some others I tried now, all deckbuilders or platformers:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1332090/Void_Tyrant/
Roguelike deckbuilder. It's, like, alright. I can't say I'd go out of my way to play it but it wasn't bad.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1069690/Rogue_Lords/
Not deckbuilder, but similar, but party of 3 and you collect random skills rather than cards. But otherwise has Slay the Spire mechanics. The gimmick being you can spend your life points as a resource, literally, to deal damage, modify buffs, teleport on the map, heal yourself, untap skills, etc. This one's more compelling, I'll probably buy the real thing.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1461960/Baby_Goat_Billy/
More roguelike deckbuilder, except it's... not very good. Very strange design decisions, notably cards don't tell you what they do, and you can only play 1 card per turn?????? No matter what. But cute goat and it's neat how they made a grid-based movement system. Not polished at all, doesn't feel professional. But I like the spirit of it!

https://store.steampowered.com/app/541310/Tiny_Thor/
Super polished 2d platformer, very satisfying to control. Levels so far didn't really stand out as super exciting but it plays well and jumping/attacking is very satisfying, good physics.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1205170/Super_Magbot/
2d platformer where the gimmick is "no jumping" but it's kind of misleading because you have magnets so you just stand on top of a red platform and aim your red magnet at it, which is not a "jump" but does propel you away. Aim your red at a blue ceiling to swing from it, etc. I can't play this, I'm not good at platformers that require aiming with your mouse, and keeping track of which button is red magnet or blue magnet is too much for my brain. Seems good though for those who can handle that.

AA3 is the best game in the series but the awkward usage of reused songs really bothers me in a way, it makes the game feel unfinished in a way that no other game is. Investigation core 2002 sounds like a placeholder every time it's used.

it does technically have about the same amount of new tracks? 34, compared to JFA's 35 and AA's 26 (35 with 1-5)

maybe they wanted to use their budget on more character/location/reminiscence themes and thought they could re-use stuff, idk

We have very different taste in games

I've played these so far:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1493260/Spiritle/
Tactical board game - Very pretty 2D art (Animal-themed, like Armello) but I found it unintuitive and not fun.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1561660/The_Lightbringer/
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1569150/Glyph/
Both 3D platformers with similar graphical styles. Both very simple, but fun. Would play the full games.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1569150/Glyph/
OG Resident Evil / Silent Hill inspired. ( for @Snake5555555555 maybe?) Captures the style really though with some awkward design choices, will certainly play the real game when it releases

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1119980/In_Sound_Mind/
More horror, but more the modern first-person kind. Mostly exploration/atmosphere in the demo, not heavy action. Would buy.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1356280/Kitaria_Fables/
I don't play the genre much but I think this is like Recettear, or those other games that combine gathering/farming with simple dungeon crawling. Seems pretty good.

I'm predisposed towards not wanting to count "Samus is a girl" as a plot twist, but I suppose since so many disagree I'd have to try to articulate why.

Poka already got most of it.

But I'd also say... if the only reason something is a twist is because the player assumes something they have no reason to assume, I wouldn't say that's a twist. Granted, players in 1987 do have a reason to assume the main character is male, just by default, but... someone playing the game for the first time in 2021 with (somehow) no previous knowledge wouldn't. And then the question is: is it the developer's intent at time of creation that matters either way...?

And despite me checking every 2 weeks for a new bundle, turns out the last one I purchased was in December 2019, which had Soul Calibur VI and Yakuza Kiwami, and it was a follow-up to the amazing bundle that was a month earlier, which had Crash N-Sane Collection and the Spyro trilogy for I think it was $10

oh. i signed up for the monthly thing precisely when someone on this board mentioned crash and spyro were in it

and then they changed their plan so i kept it to get grandfathered in but just pause it repeatedly 'cause i actually don't need that many games

(i also only enjoy like 2-3 genres of games TOTAL so most games in each bundle are irrelevant to me anyway)

Yeah, not this time Mega Man II, I've covered for you enough. Is this even where this theme belongs? It could have been a stage theme (it plays in a capsule room), it could have been a boss theme (it plays when you fight Quint), but it's really just too lame to be either of them, so I'm relegating it to a "Wily Map" theme since it basically plays for a full loop there anyway. Whatever it is, it's weak and I am only acknowledging it in the lowliest way possible.

man this is like the best and most respectable track from MMII so far!

I thought MN9 was "fine". It wasn't great, but it got some hate it didn't deserve and a lot of the issues are absolutely issues in the lower quality MM games as well. The dashing mechanic was fun and I actually enjoyed the speed run/single continue challenge modes. Once you got a hang of the mechanics, it wasn't any more difficult than a standard MM title.

There is one level that is absolute trash though, and far and away my least favorite level in any of the MM games. The art style is also hideously ugly and the voice acting is embarrassing. Overall though, if you like MM games this one is disappointing but certainly playable imo.

which level?
