yea, not every language has the same gender pronoun stuff we have so it can confuse people. my adopted chinese sister (she got adopted when she was 8 so she had to learn english) used to often use "she" even when talking about males

Yeah, I'm still only 4 to 5 months into the course, but as far as I know, there's no Korean equivalent to he/she him/her etc. The closest thing I've seen used is "that man, that woman". In general, they don't really refer to anyone using pronouns. It's almost always proper nouns.

Is English your mother's 3rd language as well? I'm enrolled in a Korean course and basically all the teachers at my school are 1st generation immigrants coming directly from South Korea. Few are also defectors from the North as well actually. None of them are native English speakers, so they often still make mistakes and have difficulty utilizing pronouns in the way native speakers do. English is a stupid language that doesn't make very much sense. I wouldn't be so quick to criticize her. Especially if she's fluent in another language besides her native tongue

Changed my mind lol. Watched the trailer and checked out the OP. Maybe I'll give 1 episode a shot. Nothing really wowed me from what I saw. Originally I was interested in just the fact that it's an anime set outside of Japan, but even then that doesn't seem like the setting is being emphasized all that much from the trailer.

Ni no Kuni Crossworlds came out recently. Unfortunately there's still no US release, but fortunately enough there's a Korean version I was able to download and I just so happen to be learning that. Finally a good enough incentive to further my studies

The point that study is seemingly trying to make is one against using BMI as a metric to determine health. Most would agree. The big problem with that study is while they're trying to discredit its validity they use that as their metric for determining who is and isn't overweight, and that affects the study groups. There's too many variables when you go off of BMI alone. I've plenty of friends who are under 10-15% body fat and they're technically considered overweight, but aren't in peak physical condition. Study had very little to do with actual nutrition and effected health conditions. It's focusing solely on BMI. We're talking about "Fat people" not "overweight people". Being overweight doesn't inherently make you fat.

You want to be a fat disgusting thing, go ahead. Just don't lie to yourself and others by saying you're healthy when you're not.

Cig smoke is worse. Smell wise its subjective obviously (to me it smells way worse) but it also lingers far far longer than weed and eventually permanently.

That's the main point. Regardless of what the smell is, you shouldn't be making your neighbors home smell like anything as they might not like it. It's inconsiderate and narrowminded to do things that would permeate a smell outside of your home and into someone else's.
