I think the only things that wouldn't fly today are the gay / trans jokes that were all the rage in the late 90's / early 00's. The Aisha Tyler-era show is still making new eps, and they're still quite good imo.

I'm looking forward to us getting to the Tyler hosting era and keeping up with it. Although, the Drew era had 9 seasons at 32 episodes a season and we're just on season 3...may take awhile.

Inn the end, someone's gotta be the bigger person. All you said is completely valid and I wouldn't blame you for dealing with it however you did. But it's good to try to just take a breath and embrace that they're in the right direction now and try not to hold them to what they are responsible for. Coming to terms with that might be too hard for them and it might work against them heading in the right direction to keep nailing it in. That mental defense will come back and make them have to act carelessly again to avoid being confronted by their demons.

Oh, I never said that out loud. That was just how I felt. I just never acknowledged anyone when they said "how sad", either.

The CW shows going downhill so quickly was sad. Arrow was amazing its first season and the 2nd one was really good. Then, it turned to shit and slid downhill fast. Same with the Flash and Legends. I am a huuuuuge Superman fan and I could only stomach my way through 3 episodes of the new show before turning it off and never returning. The CW is just garbage and has been for years.

My family and I were making our way through the Drew era on The Seed until they got removed recently, not sure where you can see them now. It was basically 'Song Styles,' but in the form of an African chant where Wayne sang the lead and everyone else provided African-sounding chanting backup like a bad 'Circle of Life' parody. Ryan and Colin more than once made 'why the fuck are we doing this' faces at each other and in Drew's direction. Even my Trump-supporting parents looked at that those skits and said 'wow, that's gotta be offensive!' I think they only did the game two, maybe three times before Drew / the producers clearly came to their senses.

HBO Max has all the originals during the Drew hosting era. My girlfriend had never watched it, so I've introduced her to it and we're watching 6 or 7 episodes a week. She's loving it, but we constantly say "this could never be done now". Which is sad. I love the improv, tongue in cheek humor and the fact that the guests and audience participants can all take it in stride.

I work at a fairly big state university and have been at work every day during the pandemic. Our president sent out a few emails thanking specific departments for working during these times, but not ours. Ever. So, for being frontline essential, I got forgotten by the higher ups aaaaand thats about it.

Yeah, I go for my 2nd tomorrow and friends that are waiting pateintly for their turn. Our health district royally dropped the ball with vaccinations. I ended up getting mine 3 counties over.
