It's nice to be able to swap between different gameplay styles depending on your mood imo, the job system in FFXIV makes this super easy to do with just the leveling being the barrier. This is doubly true if you want a tank/dps/healer job available

And you won't overlevel due to the game syncing your level to content, but it will allow you to level up multiple classes more easily which is what i'm doing. I leveled a ninja to 80 by playing the MSQ through Stormblood, and now i'm leveling a red mage to play through shadowbringers. Also the level boost helps quite a bit with your non combat job leveling (fishing, gathering, crafting, ect..). It just gives you a nice head start to catch up with legacy players

I really don't think they would survive prison. They'd become someone's fuck toy within the first week, and their mental issues would cause him to piss off the wrong person eventually. Doesn't matter if they're in a female or male prison tbqh, you get some hard ass mofos in either scenario.

Remanding them into the proper psych care is really the only option.

None of the servers are empty, in fact they all quite full at the moment due to the influx of new players. Also, you can visit servers on the fly if your friend is on another one. Currently as long as they're in the same "datacenter" (group of servers), but they're working on making cross datacenter play happen. Groupfinder (matchmaking for dungeons and raids) pulls from a pool of players across the datacenter as well.

Protip: Try to make your character on a preferred server, you get a 90 day +100% exp boost, it's insane how quick you level.

EDIT: And if a preferred server isn't available for new characters, wait a few minutes, refresh the list and see if one opens up, had to do this a few times but I got in one

To be fair they deleted half of the ARR grind with last expansion. Questing in ff14 is literally fucking awful but when you suffer through it for the end of a line in a dungeon or big battle its great.

What the game used to be like is irrelevant, all that matters is how it is in it's current state. If they saying he wouldn't make it through due to something that isn't even in the game anymore, i'm not sure what to make of that.

If you have any experience in modelbuilding outside of gunpla, you'll find gunpla to be ezpz, the skill level required to put them together and make them look good, even for the highest grade ones, is super low.
