Lost Odyssey is a bc game with X1 and XSX

Boring? They were some of the more memorable parts for me. I barely remember the plot but the short stories have stuck with me since.

The Dreams are the best part of the game. Makes sense as they were written by an award winning author while the rest of the game was written by... someone else... who writes game plots...

I feel like I vaguely remember this fact. Makes you wonder how good a JRPG you could make if you took a well-established author and paid them good money to write the whole plot.

I would love an Anne Rice vampire RPG..

TC, congratulations, it's one of the best RPGs out there, it's an unoffical final fantasy game, no doubt.

Straight up. It just feels like a Final Fantasy as you play it. I really wish they would release Fantasian on other platforms because that seems like the only other option for recapturing that feeling.

One of my favorite games. Has a good story, and good character. Having both in a game is rare. Gameplay is subjective.

I honestly don't remember shit about it outside of liking it a lot. I was doing a lot of drugs at that point and it was over a decade ago. Lol.

I remember thinking Jansen should be played by Adam Sandler.. For some reason that stupid opinion lingers.

Okay.. So the beginning of Lost Odyssey is much more gripping than XIII.

Didn't like how XIII just immediately starts at 70 MPH and hardly lets up outside of disjointed flashbacks.

LO is a bit tropey so far, but I'm entirely aware of what's going on and am left wondering what is up with Kaim and therefore wanting to progress the story. Where XIII just had me confused most of the way where I had to put forth the effort to make sense of what was going on as it tossed information at me.

Lost Odyssey is great, but damn what a joke opinion.

I prefer Uematsu's melody-driven compositions.

XIII's soundtrack is almost entirely devoid of distinct melodies and thus is a weak OST in my opinion. The battle theme being the only song I can actually recall, which I'll admit is a good piece.

I'm gonna probably make this into a spoiler free topic on my thoughts on Lost Odyssey vs Final Fantasy XIII. So maybe this will help?

But yeah, I initially hated XIII and loved LO back in the day. Sakaguchi and Uematsu making this game after leaving Square being a big reason why.

Though my recent XIII playthrough gained it a little favor since I was able to look at it as if it wasn't being compared to my beloved FF games of the previous era. Now I can also get a fresh take on LO.

Dang i gotta start tipping more. I pay $8 and tip $2 for a total of $10 but my haircut typically takes 15 to 20 minutes.

Still a 25% tip.

I don't see any reason to be in a rush to get the latest-gen systems in general. I'll almost certianly get one of them one day, but it won't be anytime soon.

For reference, I got PS3 in 2012 and PS4 in 2017. Only console I ever got close to release was the original Xbox (I really wanted Munch's Oddysee).

I got the PS3 and 4 in those same years.

Though I had a 360 in 07 and then it red ringed.. Fixed for free.. Red ringed again.. They wouldn't replace it.. Bought another and it red ringed.. Threw the bitch away and bought a PS3.

I will get a PS5 when FFXVI releases.
