I was really nostalgic for DS so I went back and played it the other day and it really didn't hold up the way I remembered it. Kind of felt...empty? And you get blue shelled like once per lap. Still my favorite though.

I really wish they brought back the mission mode though, I had completely forgotten about that and it's a nice diversion when playing alone.

The second sega racing game has a mission mode and it's pretty damn fun. Single player content in kart racers is nice

Posting this example to bump the topic. Defeating Dracula with Maria is pretty easy.

I tried it with Richter and I couldn't even take off half the healthbar of his first form.

Just hit him once and then backflip over the fireballs

Maria's subweapons are way more useful than Richter's subweapons tho. And her double jump is way more useful than Richter's backflip.

Like I've tried to cross that crumbling bridge with Richter and I've been able to do it once, while losing almost all my health. I can do it almost every attempt with Maria.

I usually just backflip through that part. It helps that the whip hitbox is briefly behind you.

I honestly have an easier time with Richter just because I'm so used to regular classic Castlevania

Yes and it's a great game that suffers from the sterilization of the Mario brand.

It's amusing to me that Mario Odyssey is the most adventurous Mario game in like a decade and none of the cool new species or anything carried over into the newest Paper Mario

This company has some of the worst writing in video games. I'm not surprised they ruined this too. The original isn't a masterpiece but I don't find myself saying "oh fuck you" as the plot progresses. The remake is great for that
