9. Made some big steps forward from Oblivion, but got worse with the guilds.

I'd also say magic got worse, but the combat spell variety was a bit better, although still not impressive. Too underpowered as well.

I disagree with magic being underpowered

Distract your enemies with daedric lords while you pelt away with a bound bow, works against almost any enemy

Invisibility and muffle makes you almost untouchable

Enchanting of course breaks the game

I think magic can be powerful but you have to get creative with it instead of just relying on Destruction for damage

In a vacuum GTA: San Andreas is the most fun and the best IMO. Compared to more modern installments like 4 and 5 it's so ugly and ancient.

If they would do a modern remake taking advantage of new technology with a larger scale I would be thrilled beyond belief.

I had the most fun playing through 4s storyline, I thought the pacing was incredible and the last five or six missions were truly incredible the way the game made you feel like everything was caving in, with everybody around you either dying or getting caught by the police.

gameplay wise 5 is obviously the best, but I was only a fan of Franklin when it came to the story, and was mostly uninterested in finishing it because I just couldnt get into what was going on around me.

SA and Vice city were a much better mixture of gameplay and story, but my list goes 4 > 5 > SA > VC

i know this is an unpopular opinion, and I care little

5 > VC > 4 > SA > 3
