Seriously, Kugane Ohsai was a treat to that storyline in Stormblood.

We talked about it last topic (or maybe it was the one before)

They didn't have any good ideas for Hildy so they put him on hiatus. He's confirmed to be coming back for Endwalker.

I don't really find healers that fun to play anymore because of the cutting down of things to do, honestly.

The game is just not designed for pure healing and despite that they keep saying they will increase the necessity of healing constantly so as to be primarily what you do, they haven't done it yet!

White Mage is a little more fun than the other two jobs but not by a lot.

Here's hoping they do something about it one way or the other in Endwalker (either increasing amount of DPS options Healers have or finally tuning the fights in a way where you aren't DPSing 90+% of the time...)

Yeah regen effects are the highest potency heals you have that aren't on long cooldowns.

Also not just for heals but for any AoE, you can figure out if it is 'worth it' to cast an AoE vs multiple regular heals by simply multiplying the potency by the number of targets, if any of the newer people here don't know.

So like if a single target is 240 potency and an AoE ability is 100 potency, it's worth it to start AoEing at 3 targets being hit because 100 x 3 = 300 potency, which is a 60 potency gain over using the single target.

For healing it can be a little more complicated than just an if=then situation since you can need to prioritize based on who is in danger, but for DPS its 99.9% of the time simply 'if there are X amount of enemies, use the AoE'. Generally the magic number is 3, but there are a few cases where 2 or 4+ are when you start AoEing so refer to your own abilities for that.

As a WHM, what should I be doing when everyone just got with an AOE? None of my AOE heals seem particularly great. I'm level 60, if that matters. I did Great Gubal Library from the daily roulette, and while things went OKAY this was my first time doing a level 50+ dungeon as a WHM so I was definitely feeling overwhelmed.

Is your gear up to date?

Because yes, you should be using your AoE heals to deal with AoE damage.

The Noclip documentary is super good. One of their best ones for sure.

You do use WASD as well.

Basically WASD = left stick, mouse = right stick, in simplified terms. You hold down right click to turn the camera while moving with WASD. W is forward, S is back, A and D are strafe left/right. So you point where you're going with the mouse, thus turning with it.

So navigating the 'tight-rope' is literally just 'point the camera so you're looking straight, then hit W to go in a straight line'.

It works roughly the same as controller but its more precise because you can make smaller camera movements.

Mouse is way more precise on pointing. That's like the whole reason FPS play better on PC than on console.

It would only be worse if you used keyboard to turn instead of the mouse but by gawd I hope people know not to do that because that should be a crime.

It's waaaaaaaaaaay easier with mouse and keyboard than control stick though...?

Another good one is Ancient Flare in Labyrinth of the Ancients causing MORE problems now that it's common to skip the second one (and sometimes maybe even the first?). It's still not guaranteed, so parties split on trying to burn the boss vs being cowards and the entire raid wipes due to lack of commitment.

I always say "no retreat or no balls" in alliance chat before the boss :D

Also I like to be on the pads on the Atomos so I can repeatedly step on and off the pad every half second to troll the other parties. <_<

Yeah I gotta agree that it would be a big mistake for you to move back to Utah at the expense of her job.

It sounds like you are going to have to step out of your comfort zone (if you can even call it that, since you're not currently comfortable by your own admission) and put some actual effort into getting used to the area. Home is where you make it. If you don't try to make it there, it will never BE there and you're never going to be happy.

Basically most of the really good writing is her lol

I've definitely queued for something I was In Need for and not gotten the bonus. Actually specifically tested this the other day. Maybe there's a lag time or something, but at the very least I don't think it's consistent.

You are mistaken or it was a bug.

It 100% definitely goes by what is displayed when you queue.

Wow I was pretty down on the announcement that KnK would have real time combat but the way they did this with seamless transition to turn based at any point is actually really interesting.

I can't wait to see how they flesh this out now. That looked really good.

you can get a small house for way less than that, prob like 5-6 mil? you only need 3-4 mil for the plot

you want to start with a small anyway, so you can relocate onto a medium/large when one opens up

I guess it depends on the server but you have to be insanely lucky on Excalibur when they open new housing to get it for the base price.

You basically can't get them without buying from a player there.

By endgame SC you don't need her to carry you through fights (and fights where it would be helpful feature enemies that resist smoke bomb anyway). She's useful earlier in the game, when you don't have super powerful AOE Arts to wreck everything for you

Petrify on Smoke Cannon works through almost the entirety of the game and can make fights take seconds. Certainly almost always faster than waiting for AoE arts cast times.

Finally finished Alexander.

While the content is good, I really really do not like the structure of having to queue 12 times and getting dumped back to the relevant area after every encounter.

That will forever be the thing I miss most between FF14 and WoW raiding. It gets even worse after Alexander when they stop even trying to set the fights in interesting environments and make every fight take place on a platform floating in space

I vastly prefer it as FF14 does it and it isn't even close. It lets you just do what you want to do when you want to do it instead of forcing you to commit to doing it in a certain order for a certain length of time.

May is when we're getting more info on it

Fordola is the worst character

Trading in for seals is way more useful than selling btw

Post Stormblood patch stories are really good.

And FFT alliance raids are the best in the game currently imo

Yeah I can't say episode 1 was that interesting either

It had some funny jokes but nothing actually interesting in it.

I do still think they could work on the summoning aspect of it some but its definitely way better than it used to be in that respect.

Summoner is pretty fun imo

I honestly don't know why heavy and bind skills even still exist in PvE content

I enjoyed all of the MCU elements of the show up until this episode, which was kind of boring.
