you dont personally need to care, but that doesnt stop others who find it useful from caring

if people are getting mad at you for mixing them up thats obnoxious, but it doesnt suddenly invalidate the genres usefulness for others

But the purpose of subgenres is to do exactly that though! Like, Im a big fan of black metal, but I know to avoid stuff considered symphonic black metal because thats not my preferred style and feel that it often misses the essence of what makes other black metal subgenres so appealing to me.

It is natural for things to become more niche the further you dig and the more invested you become in something, and while I do occasionally think subgenres get needlessly convoluted, its the exception to the norm. I think you would be surprised at how useful some of these terms can be for an avid music collector, including all of the terms OP listed (with the possible exception of shadow rap, which I am unfamiliar with)

Lets be honest here, andrew wk is a one hit wonder. If he didn't make Party Hard then no one would know who he is. And i don't think he can ever again make a song which will top that one

I had been following him for a bit prior to him blowing up thanks to his appearance on a Wolf Eyes release. That is the song that definitely made him famous yes, but he has a large catalogue of songs under various pseudonyms and with other artists that range from classical piano improvisation to harsh experimental noise to reggae to arena rock and so much in between. Party Hard is fun, but I feel he has surpassed its quality dozens of times and has so much more to offer than people realize, the general public loves to pigeonhole him as a gimmick because of his great, but silly little party album.

granted, I feel like hes been on auto-pilot for about 10 years now, but he was absolutely untouchable for a period of time imo

I saw Damn_Underscore at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday.

I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didnt want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.

He said, Oh, like youre doing now?

I was taken aback, and all I could say was Huh? but he kept cutting me off and going huh? huh? huh? and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.

The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like Sir, you need to pay for those first. At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.

When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually to prevent any electrical infetterence, and then turned around and winked at me. I dont even think thats a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

Every time Ive had one I can slam it down without a drink no problem, which I cannot say for any other chain restaurants biscuits, like KFC, Cracker Barrel, Dennys, etc.

now a good homemade biscuit will still top them all any day, but in terms of mass produced junk the Popeyes biscuit actually feels relatively moist to me

Here's a question, why the fuck is the first proper world they put you in a mad max post apocalypse place? Why did they think that was fitting for the beginning of the game? And in case you think it's because that's where Tawna's from so they could introduce her, nope. They never even show what her world is like.
