I think that's more of a "recent" thing. Even as late as 2010 we were will to vote a CoD game as GotY. I don't think we ever applied it to MK either. It's still a fighting game so it's hardcore enough.

Hasn't Terry always been number 1 for King of Fighters? Also it doesn't explain why Sub-Zero is missing when Scorpion is in. Especially when Sub-Zero is actually more popular then Scorpion.

I don't really like how hackneyed "can't taste disease" is, but this is the kind of ridiculous nonsense that I expect from AA and DR. If ridiculous nonsense is handled well, like it is in 2-3, it's fine. I don't really know what else to say except he's a bad dad. Given the events of the entire game, he might be worse than Zak, but I don't know.

What do you mean by this? Losing the ability to taste isn't common but it's a real illness.

I think the Zelda Cycle and a lot of the "____ cycle" things in general are supposed to be plays off the Sonic Cycle. I think the Sonic Cycle was the first one but I'm not 100% on that.

Way back when Legendary female Corrin came out her accessory specified a specific Corrin. That means they already had plans for a Legendary Male Corrin. Due to avatar gender parity, we need to get another male Corrin soon to bring him up to par with female Corrin. They are never more than a year apart and it has almost been a year since Legendary female Corrin. This all points to Legendary male Corrin being next one.

oh yeah, if you're considering 3ds vlr, there used to be and probably still is a critical save bug. so, try to not save in some of the rooms. can't remember which ones, just that it was a thing

The general advice was don't save in the puzzle rooms. There was one in particular that was particularly bad to save in but just don't save in any of them.

If a person is a game reviewer who is legitimately doing their job properly the satire can still come off as feeling like a personal attack even though they know it's not actually personal.

I think that would still work out to two reviewers independently deciding not to play even a few minutes of Mario Golf. Like say reviewer A is stealing from reviewer B. If A played the game but couldn't be bothered to write a real review they probably still would have noticed the error in review B when copying it.

Another question, how did both IGN and GameSpot both end up with a reviewer for Mario Golf who didn't seem to play the game at all?

IIRC it was GameSpot that had a review of Radiant Dawn where they thought that it was a game over if any unit died for the entire game because they never got past the Dawn Brigade section. Although, it does take a few hours to get through the section so it's not quite the same as Mario Golf where the reviewer missing something they should have known if they played the game at all.

I am also curious what happened here. Mario Golf really doesn't seem like the type of game where reviewers would need to cut corners.

Edit: Actually, GameSpot was the one complaining about Mii support so maybe it was someone else.
