it seems like a bad idea to hide a house key in your car. you're far more likely to have a jackass break into your car after all, and if they do it outside your house they might just use the key and come on in...

best idea i've seen is to hide it in the landscaping outside your house. had a friend who hid his under a random rock in his front garden that had dozens of random rocks, its unlikely that a burglar is going to come snooping around your house and start flipping rocks over looking for a key.

Not a bad recommendation at all. I have another hid away in storage, but kept the car one for easy personal access.

My locks are cheap on this apartment, so thinking about just spending $40 tomorrow and installing new ones.

Honestly, I'd feel more safe with it under a doormat.

They find this key, they know where I live and that they have a chance to look normal by using it.

You dont seem to know what professional house burgarls are like. They tend to find the most inconspicuous way into the house such as making copies if keys. And if TC is driving an Audi they would tend to think "Mofo has money" and hed be a good target.

Although, I wouldnt think to mich about it TC, I doubt that'll happen.

Or people who might be robbers themselves, but know people who would. They pass the key copy off to them and take a cut.

That said, I live in a small two-family home. They aren't getting much. Still don't feel great about it though.

I'm looking at a loaner BMW for them too and the guy's first offer is literally 3% off MSRP and he raised the MF as much as BMW allows.

My folks are in their 70s, retired, and have a little money to play around with.

They are looking to lease a new car and looked at Mercedes. Guy literally tried to get them in a lease at $550 a month for a 2020 C300 with almost 8,000 miles on it.

I had to explain to my parents that this was a horrendous deal and they were surprised.

As I say this, just found a way to disable it thankfully.
