Not necessarily, but being alone really drags you down mentally if you seek companionship. Even if they find happiness elsewhere, many will still have that void in them. I imagine it's even worse if one feels that if they do find a relationship they truly want they will be damned.

What about those who do it out of total despair?

well I would argue that if you suffer from total despair for a prolonged length of time you very well may have a chemical imbalance. I had deep despair a few times in my life due to the health issues of a loved one and loss of a few friends but I was able to fall back on my faith and endure. But I would never blame sickness or chemical imbalance in God. I would sooner blame the things we put in our bodies for that.

I will do what he says. But the fact is every human will sin at some point (not talking about babies who die for some reason). So if we all will inevitably sin then what hope is there? Only Jesus. Jesus is the hope for all who choose to accept. And when I say all, I mean murderers, rapists, thieves, liars, and yes even sexually immoral.

Is your retort to my suggestion that sex is easy to avoid that a person is doomed to a life of sadness and loneliness because of that? Is the only way to find happiness in another persons arms?

Reminds me of how god can make people with mental illness, chemical imbalances in the brain, and/or a very horribly life, but if they dare want to end their suffering themselves they get sent to hell. It all makes it sound like God just wants people to suffer to me. Doesn't sound very loving to me.

I fully believe a person who commits suicide due to a brain imbalance has the opportunity to go to heaven. Junior Seau (sp?) would be an example.
