Owner didnt do shit until turnover became ridiculous and offered an extra $1 to everyone, which McDonald's/Wendy's/Jack in the Box were already doing. tbh there should've been a general strike, but at least in my area Ive seen places start to unionize because the pandemic woke people up to their conditions and their actual labor value --- Peace Love Dope |

Sweetheart of a dog, but it went down fast. He stopped eating and lost a lot of weight in the last month. As hard as it is to say it, you've had your cat for 14 long years and made lots of great memories with him. And I know from personal experience that while it might be hard to have to put down the pet, its a better option at this point in his life, than if he was 4-5 years old; as unfortunately even after getting the procedures finished, you don't know what the solution will cost. Thats 100% true and is really the crippling part: not seeing how much all this will cost at the end of the road. And it comes on so fast. Im sorry for your loss =( myztikrice posted... Most elderly cats die of kidney failure. It also shouldn't cost $500 to x-ray them, do you have another vet? It might be less than that, but like $200-300 still. They want an ultrasound too but that can be prolonged after the Xray I guess. My usual vet is booked for the next 3 weeks, and my only option are emergency care centers. Fortunately the problem doesnt seem to be his kidney, they ran a blood test for it and he's actually healthy on that department, surprisingly. --- Peace Love Dope |

There is a credit care option but I can't even afford the deductible on it. I quit my job a week ago due to a depressive episode that was probably triggered by said job, and not enough money to pay rent at the end of the month. Got jobs lined up but I won't get paid for another like 3 weeks, well after this shit with my cat could come to a head. Nobody to borrow money from, no payment plan options. Pretty much: do I have a roof under my head or check to see whats the problem with my cat (not even getting started on long term treatment costs). He's 14 and lived a happy life, I know that. But seeing him like this, stressed and not eating, breaks me. Only hurts more that Im not in a financial state to do the best for him. Had him since he was a kitten, ever since I started going through my mental health issues, and he's always cheered me up. Fucking terrible decision to have to make. Especially at this moment in my life. I guess all I can do is make him as happy as I possibly can. --- Peace Love Dope |
