TopicDoes Overwatch or WarCraft 3 require more skill?

I played Warcraft 3 at least as much as Overwatch (if not way more) and never got good at the game.

So I'd say Warcraft 3 requires more skill.

EDIT: Or maybe just a different kind of brain, I guess. WC3 is long-term strategy. OW is more short-term and even if something goes bad, your reflexes might keep you in the game.

Nomura's plots are off the walls, way too convoluted and just exhaustingly presented.

His characterizations are really good though, they get a lot of heart and are easy to emotionally invest in. It's probably the saving grace of that series... and maybe even FF7R going forward because the plot there looks like it's taking an all too famliar turn.

A while back a bunch of people on the internet decided DK64 was always a terrible game and the opinion kinda warped into the entire genre also being bad.

I don't know though, I liked my collectathon platformers and I'd still take them over most sidescrollers.

Latency is the most important thing so if you're wired up as opposed to wi-fi, and your net is stable there shouldn't be an issue.

You'd have to have truly terrible download/upload speed for it to be a factor in online games, like dial-up style low speeds.

the slope isn't slippery, because developers would dig in their heels. They don't want to exclude the market of 85 million switch customers to sell to a market of 3 million Switch deluxe customers.

It's not like they were holding them back from normal 3DS. The only reason they were new-3DS-exclusive is because a normal 3DS wouldn't be able to handle Binding of Isaac, Fire Emblem warriors, Minecraft, Xenoblade.

And it's not like those games were made for and targeted to new 3DS either. They were ports from other systems that a new 3DS was able to handle.

PS4 and Xbox also had mid-generation upgrades and the differences in what's playable between the weaker and stronger versions are minimal.

The scenario you envision where you have to buy 3 different systems in a single 6-year generation to get all the exclusives wouldn't be sustainable for the industry either for customers or developers, so I'm not worried about any significant fracture of game compatibility.

Or at least that's how I see it
Very well said. Maybe I'm just jaded and lacking faith in these companies... For me it's just the case that if they can, I'm sure they will. Hopefully the points you raised will be enough to keep them from doing it.

Fingers crossed and I guess we'll find out soon.

It wasn't terrible, it was only two nintendo games IIRC (a port of Xenoblade and a port of Fire Emblem Warriors), SNES virtual console, and a dozen random other games, most of which were no-names.
The concept of it was terrible. And a slippery slope. What if it doesn't stop at a Pro and two years later they release a Pro+ and you need to buy the Swtich 3 times in a single gen just to be able to play all the exclusives?

I really don't like it. If it's backwards compatible at choppier frames then fine but locking out games mid-gen isn't okay.

I could see an open-world (or at least open-level) Snap working but it'd be much less streamlined. Casually walking around and taking shots might be less exciting and limited and to fill it out there'd need to be an equivalent of dungeons or shrines like in Zelda... Curated areas with puzzle-solving so you had more to do than just walk and aim your camera at stuff.

With the Safari aspect they can curate the entire stage and fill it with secrets too.

I've owned every single game of the series since each of their respective launch windows and except for a small stint during Sm4sh and like one friend I currently play with, I barely ever touch the online.

You'll be fine solo, there's a decent chunk to do, especially if you enjoy collecting the spirits.

I finished the main story and hated every second of it. Unpopular opinion, but I actually thought Dragon Age 2 was the better game. The various open worlds did nothing but hurt the pacing and world building in Inquisition.
I didn't hate every second of it but otherwise I agree entirely. Mostly felt like I was playing because it was Dragon Age and not because it was fun or interesting.

I also didn't play the DA2 DLC so the villain of Inquisition was a huge meh, and it sounds like that'll be a repeat for the next Dragon Age too because I'm not going through the whole game again and buying a piece of DLC just to be caught up with the next one.

TopicPowers: Professor X or Magneto?
Bringit

I think Xavier's powers are just too ethically screwed up. Nobody would ever be able to lie to you again, this includes white lies. You'd know exactly how everyone thought of you... Which could absolutely unravel any (and if you're unlucky; every) relationship you ever have. Then there's the temptation to just make people do anything you want. All it'd take is one moment of frustration, insecurity, impatience or rage to violate someone in a way that'll not only stain your soul forever but turn any dynamic you might have with that person going forward into a complete joke because you'd have already demeaned that entire relationship.

Magneto's powers are, in a sense, less powerful. Xavier's could make you a veritable God and nobody would ever be the wiser whereas Magneto's would have to resort to violence and oppression to get a similar result. That said I think taking Magneto's power is the smart choice... you could lead a relatively normal (but very easy, productive and luxurious) life without ever having to harm someone (or yourself) unless they give you no other choice.

I use purple on black. Stuff I need to read like topic titles, headlines etc are now much darker and stuff like the logos are way brighter (and things being too bright are why I switched in the first place).

I'll adjust if I have to but I prefered the old.

I think they're covering their arses, and they'll play it by ear.

If the console race proves to be competitive this gen and it looks like having, say, ES6 as an XBox exclusive will shift more consoles, they'll obviously make it exclusive. If PS5 is well ahead on sales then they'll probably make it multiplat to make the most money from software sales.

It's a win-win situation for them, really.
Yeah exactly this. The new gen consoles aren't making direct profits from selling the hardware so I'd expect timed exclusives unless the XBOX already has a huge lead by the time these titles release.

That said, I'm expecting the 'timed' part of being an exclusive to be a much bigger window for first party IPs... Similar to how Sony have only just started releasing PS4 games on the PC... an entire gen later.

It's so weird that he's Goku's brother and no one cares
I think there's probably a world in which Raditz took Vegeta's place in the story but seeing as that didn't happen, I think having the both of them would be kinda redundant and is probably the biggest reason Raditz never returned.

Raditz coming back could only really result in one of two things, he turns good, becomes an actual brother to Goku and settles into a more regular lifestyle (which is a repeat of what Vegeta has already done) or he stays bad and just dies again. I guess they could do the former and have him die as redemption anyway but I don't know, I'd hope they could come up with something more interesting after all this time I guess.
