And it's been an socio-economical train wreck. Having a baby...just to have a baby...encourages people to treat childbirth and raising children as an accessory/status event rather than a serious life goal that will have impact on the future. Offering them support $$$ when they get pregnant only makes that worse. Too much casual support disincentivizes them away from learning to be more responsible with life choices and pregnancy. In a relationship, it can frustrate the other partner who's less ideal because it "raises the bar" for them to be a better/more competitive partner (something LAZY partners do NOT want to do). You ever see a couple where Partner A was talented, diligent, attractive, charismatic, and devoted...yet Partner B still decided to break up with them over petty shit? It's usually because Partner B is insecure trash by comparison and doesn't like acknowledging that getting a chance with a substantially more impressive partner was winning a lottery in life. Nope, too big of a hit to the ego. They're still butthurt that, despite miraculously attracting an amazing 1-in-1,000,000 partner like that, it didn't happen on picture perfect flattering terms. Women are vocal about not wanting to be 4th, 5th or 6th on a single dad's list when starting a new relationship. Why shouldn't they be? That's a shitty unattractive deal no matter how you try to sell it to a new partner. There's his kid(s) that are usually going to be (honestly) 1st-3rd place, his career, and himself. Sometimes there's also close relatives, best friends and family pets too. Some singles are actually stupid enough to rank dating partners THEY WANT TO INVEST IN below their besties and the dog/cat. And then they wonder why they're not getting any quality call backs. When you have a legit high quality dating partner you want to keep: the family stays in their lane, the best friends watch their mouths, the family pet is expendable if necessary. That's real. And this door also swings both ways. Men are allowed to be legitimately turned off when a single mom makes it clear that the new man will remain low on her priorities list as the norm. He does not have to be #1 on the list, but if he's a keeper and not at least 3rd after a few months...above the family pets etc...she's sending the clear message she's not strong enough to acknowledge why dating her as a single parent is a handicap compared to the competition. She needs to compensate for that to be competitive. Otherwise she's dropping the ball on selling herself as a better option compared to dozens of other candidates without those issues. With kids, she's competing at a disadvantage...and she needs to fucking accept that reality like all single parents should. Her odds will improve when she does. Smarter moms get with the program, make time for the new partner, and tell their brats to be on their best behavior or sleep outside. That's a woman who has her shit together. Competitively and economically it makes better sense to prioritize the new relationship higher than 4th on that list. At least long enough to seal the deal. They can get a little too into the theme park magic. Some of the character actors have been sexually approached, stalked, and even threatened for not giving a clingy guest special attention. This can happen to BOTH the female AND male staff, particularly those with costumes that reveal the face. So I would not be shocked to hear that some of the actors have tactics for defusing situations that could end in a restraining order. Then again, it's Disney.
