Topic | US is doing worse now at Coronavirus than the initial first wave! |
Demigod_Elessar 07/29/21 11:03:00 PM #50 | People will lose their fucking minds. I honestly don't see the majority of Americans complying with any future Covid measures, again. When you spark an "honor system" where unvaccinated people run free and get all the benefits of being vaccinated, and now cases are spiking exponentially, it doesn't take a genius to figure this one out. I'm honestly very pissed. I did my part. I wore a mask for 18 months. I social distanced. I quarantined. I got my vaccine the moment I was able to. I followed all of the rules, and because of these anti-vaxxers idiots, I have to be punished for their stupidity? It's fucked up. The people who are refusing to get the vaccine are the same people who will refuse to listen to the CDC. --- IRON MAIDEN IS MY RELIGION! |

I have both websites bookmarked under their Olympics video tab. So most of it has remained spoiler free for me. --- IRON MAIDEN IS MY RELIGION! |

Demigod_Elessar 07/28/21 11:15:36 AM #37 | NBC is pure garbage. I'm so glad they lost the NHL to ESPN starting next year. The final straw for me was when the St Louis Blues won the Stanley Cup, their first ever, and NBC decided to fade to black right into the players hoisting the Cup moments. Absolute disgrace and disrespect. I have a VPN and have been alternating between Canada's CBC or UK's BBC for all Olympic coverage. --- IRON MAIDEN IS MY RELIGION! |
Topic | How are the Middle-Earth: Shadow of X games? |
Demigod_Elessar 05/20/21 6:01:54 PM #7 | Shadow of Mordor is dope. Really liked the nemesis system and all the unique ways you can take down orc armies. The final boss was pretty bad though, but it didn't ruin the game for me. Shadow of War I enjoyed at first, it's basically all that made the first game great, just bigger. But by the second half of the game it got way too repetitive. And in order to get the definitive ending you have to grind so much. I never completed it for this reason. --- IRON MAIDEN IS MY RELIGION! |

Demigod_Elessar 05/20/21 12:52:22 AM #6 | au_gold posted... Good to know. So Im guessing its better to invest in charm over intimidate? That's entirely up to you. Charm and Intimidate reach the same goals, just charm is the good guy path and Intimidate is the bad guy path. So decide early if you want a good Shepard or a bad Shepard and you basically have to lock it in for your playthrough. --- IRON MAIDEN IS MY RELIGION! |

Demigod_Elessar 05/20/21 12:39:52 AM #3 | In ME1 you'll gain enough skill points to just about max everything out. So just point into whatever play style you want to do. The only thing I have to suggest is, if you want to make the most of your playthrough/decisions, you have to go full paragon or renegade (good or bad). The trilogy does not reward you for dabbling with both, or going half and half. You will need one side or the other fully maxed to complete some of the tougher charisma checks throughout the trilogy. --- IRON MAIDEN IS MY RELIGION! |

Demigod_Elessar 05/18/21 5:17:40 PM #11 | LordRazziel posted... This morning and everyday. My internal clock is great. Same. I set an alarm just to be safe, but I get up at the same time every day for work. Demigod_Elessar 05/05/21 4:23:19 PM #4 | I really enjoyed Saga, got into it a few years ago and read up to the 5th or 6th paperback. Haven't read past that, but just because I haven't bought any of the new ones past that point. May need to catch up soon. It's weird and unique. I've never read another comic like it before. --- IRON MAIDEN IS MY RELIGION! |
Topic | Only 5 days until New Pokemon Snap |
Demigod_Elessar 04/25/21 1:20:53 PM #4 | I really hope it has a lot of content. The original didn't, but that was understandable, since it was an N64 game around the simple gimmick of taking pictures of Pokemon, when Pokemon was still fresh and insanely popular. If this one can be completed in just a few hours like the first one, it's not worth the $60 for me. So I will not be buying day one, going to wait a few days/week for reviews and to see just how much content is in it. --- IRON MAIDEN IS MY RELIGION! |

Demigod_Elessar 04/16/21 4:45:35 PM #47 | codey posted... I would love it if more RPGs allowed you to actually inflict status effects on bosses. I feel like so many of them have immunity just to artificially inflate difficulty, and it makes any sort of status effect moves pretty much worthless. If you have a Switch, and haven't already, try out Bravely Default 2. One of the very few games where you can apply status effects to a good number of bosses. --- IRON MAIDEN IS MY RELIGION! |

Demigod_Elessar 04/16/21 1:24:47 PM #5 | This is a very specific example, but the Adel fight in Final Fantasy 8. The first time I played FF8 (granted I was like 10 years old, so young and stupid), I steamrolled through the game with AOE attacks and summons. Then I was brickwalled at the Adel fight, which is a boss very late in the game on disc 4. The gimmick is, this boss absorbs one of your party members and makes them a part of her body. And you have to single target and damage just Adel. If you damage your absorbed party member too much, you'll kill them and get a game over. I could not win this boss fight the first time I experienced it, and you are also stuck in the area where it takes place (you cannot exit at this point). So stupid me had to start the entire game over again in order to better prepare for this one fight. Haha --- IRON MAIDEN IS MY RELIGION! |
Topic | Are the FF Ultimania worth buying? |
Demigod_Elessar 04/16/21 1:13:21 PM #2 | I have the first two volumes (Vol 1 covers FF1-6, Vol 2 is FF7-9). They're pretty neat. So basically the Ultimania guides for each game only ever got Japanese releases. They're not so much a game guide, more like an encyclopedia about each game. They are heavy on artwork, character and plot details and explanations, and the world building of each game. For the 25th anniversary of the series, these volumes were made and released in JP, and for the first time ever, overseas. If you've never seen them before, you'll get some enjoyment out of them. My only complaint is they didn't give FF8 anywhere near the justice it deserved. The original FF8 Ultimania had over 470 pages, yet it was just given a measly 60 pages in the new volume. FF7 and FF9 hogged the remaining of the volume. I get FF8 isn't nearly as popular as the other two, but I was still disappointed they cut the content short. --- IRON MAIDEN IS MY RELIGION! |

I'm sure she was an awakening to a lot of young/teenage gamers. Ayla (Chrono Trigger), I was also a huge Android 18 fan from DBZ. Topic | What is the oldest video game console that you still have access to? |
Demigod_Elessar 03/24/21 1:15:11 AM #20 | Still have my SNES from when I got it in the mid 90's. Haven't hooked it up since 2012, but it still worked at that time. It's turned into that bleached yellow color, hah, but I think that was a common issue with a lot of SNES' that have survived to this day. After that, it would be my N64 (got it in 1997), GBC (got it in 1998/99), and original Xbox (got it in 2002). But I haven't hooked any of those up since probably the mid to late 2000's. I also had a Sega Genesis and PS1 in the 90's, but sadly the Sega did not survive over the years and the PS1 I gave away when I got the PS2 in 2001/02. --- IRON MAIDEN IS MY RELIGION! |

Demigod_Elessar 03/11/21 3:19:05 PM #37 | Veggeta X posted... Veggeta X posted... So, Saruman is an interesting case. He had allied himself with Sauron initially, because he saw no way for the people of Middle Earth to defeat him. But, by the time of the War of the Ring, his motives turned selfish and he betrayed Sauron. Saruman wanted the Ring for himself. He felt it would be the single most crucial artifact for winning the war. He was not working with Sauron anymore from the events at the start of the Fellowship up to the end of The Two Towers. The events regarding Saruman betraying Gandalf, raising the Uruk army, and attacking Rohan was all for his own gains. Sauron did not know about the fellowship simply because Saruman never told him, he was also seeking the Ring for himself. --- IRON MAIDEN IS MY RELIGION! |

Demigod_Elessar 03/11/21 1:49:32 PM #26 | I mean, yes it could be considered a plothole, but I've never understood people focusing so much on the thought. It's not like the great eagles are mindless beasts to be used as mounts. They're intelligent and descendants of the Valor. The Valor, at the point of LOTR, want nothing to do with Middle Earth and try to stay out of its matters. Gwaihir, the lord of the great eagles, owed Gandalf a debt because Gandalf saved him from a posioned arrow earlier on in the lore. So this is why he rescued him from Isengard. But I would assume they did not know of the Council of Elrond or the fellowship's plan to destroy the Ring. And then even if the eagles got involved, it would have been risky. Sauron had the Nazgul and Fell Beasts on his side, and if a company of eagles decided to approach Mordor, surely he would have seen this and there's a chance, no matter how big or small, that the eagles could have been show down or killed, and so the Ring reclaimed. The whole point of the fellowship and the Council of Elrond was a stealth infiltration into Mordor. Sauron knew the Ring had been found, but had no idea the races of Middle Earth would dare to destroy it. Which is why the thought never occurred to him until Frodo put the Ring on in the cracks of doom. So, I mean, yes, if you want to stretch it, the Eagles could have attempted to flown Frodo and the Ring to Mordor. But it was just never a plot point. --- IRON MAIDEN IS MY RELIGION! |

Demigod_Elessar 03/10/21 9:42:20 AM #49 | Iron Maiden "Somewhere Back In Time", June 11 2008, in Chicago IL. Absolutely phenomenal performance. I still get chills thinking about it to this day. I went into the arena that day having heard of the band and maybe a few of their songs, but not being too familiar with them. I walked out a changed man and huge Maiden fan. Especially after seeing the song "Powerslave" that night. To this day, 13 years later, I haven't come across another live band that tops that night. --- IRON MAIDEN IS MY RELIGION! |

Demigod_Elessar 03/02/21 9:05:11 PM #6 | I think it's mostly because of the poor performance on the base PS4. If you're playing on the Pro or PS5, you're going to have a decent time. But the performance suffers on the base console, and that's why it was removed from the PS store. If there was someway to not have it accessible on the PS4, but could be on the PS4 Pro and PS5 (which I don't think is possible, since the store is the same on all three, yes?) I'm sure it would become available again. --- IRON MAIDEN IS MY RELIGION! |
