Great campaign, some great missions and the basic nature of the game engine meant even the "waves of enemy" missions were fun and exciting, plus there was usually a twist. I tried to start with COD3 on PS3 but man, I hate to say it, but that game kind of sucks. The dev had to put it on like 8 consoles with a short dev time, and it shows. On PS3 its constantly bouncing from 30 fps to 60fps which is jarring and level complexity seems limited by the PS2 version. Gonna start MW2 probably--what other FPS games have fun campagins on PS3? The learning process of Dota 2 is actually what makes it so engaging. You feel yourself getting better, and the fact nothing of value is locked behind a paywall just puts an emphasis on gameplay that's lacking in other MOBAs.
