To this day, I still don't know if fish furries have a special name, though I have been zero effort into learning.

I'm not seeing any real consensus in the Google results. Wikifur says they're commonly called fishies, while some people consider them a subset of scalies, and at least one person lumps all aquatic fursonas into the "aquatics" category (which feels incredibly lazy for a name, but it's not my place to judge).

So, I don't think there is a definitive answer.
