It comes with the controllers and you can do some...additions to it. Much more portable and connects with HDMI.

You CAN basically set it up with a retro arch raspberry pi tbh.

Yeah, that is an option. But I like playing og hardware, I keep a crt for that purpose. Emulation is cool, and I'll be more on that train when I'm older I think, but there's just a certain something about the old school style you know?

N64's aren't quite as expensive yet. Luckily I have mine from my childhood.

I had my NES, SNES, and N64 with all the games at my family's fishing camp. I'd keep them there as something to do at night when we'd go, I had my PS2 and GCN at home. Hurricane Rita blew the entire camp into the river and well now they're gone obviously. :(

Damn that sucks. They're expensive to replace too if you want og hardware.

I'm no economist, so take this with a pound of salt:

These price increases have more to do with the general availability of money due to COVID quantitative easing. It's why the price of every asset, including stocks and even depreciating assets like cars, are skyrocketing. Where in pre 2008 the problem was that any idiot could get a mortgage, the problem here is that rich people have so much cash available to them that they'll pay any price because interest rates are crazy low. And with that availability of cash is the fear of inflation, or at least asset inflation, which then continues to drive asset prices up as everybody dumps their cash to protect their real wealth.

Until the Fed raises interest rates, prices will not go down for housing, or for the majority of other assets. And even then, there's no guarantee houses will flood the market because we aren't expecting tons of foreclosures. These buildings aren't bought by people who can't afford them. Much of the price increases may be permanent (as they were across different asset classes the previous time we used quantitative easing), with some value loss simply due to interest rate increases. But who knows, many more people may just become landlords with what they're sitting on.

The net effect at the end of the day is probably going to be further wealth inequality. The rich get richer here, but a big economic crisis is (hopefully) avoided.

I haven't done much flea market/ thrift shopping myself. As an aside, if you're trying to buy Pokemon games make sure you know how to spot fakes. They are expensive and popular enough that people pass reproduction cartridges as real, and they make it into used game stores.

Whether it's a little or a lot more well depends on the store. The closest retro store to me sells games at 50% or 100% more than ebay listings, but the owner is an asshole. Nonetheless, I haven't been to a retro game store where the markup wasn't significant. It is also very difficult to find popular games at them sometimes since they are usually bought immediately.

But that's just part of used items I suppose. The individual seller is not also in the business of buying used games to stock shelves.

Edit: I usually only get cheap retro games from mom and pop shops. If even a 100% markup is only $5, I don't mind. But when a $30 game online is $50 in store I pass.

There's something about that sweet OG hardware with the CRT. I'm also planning on using an FXPAK Pro down the line (don't mod me), and those carts often have compatibility issues with clone systems.

Just by skimming it seems like a move from the financial industry to protect or enhance their early steps into bitcoin. Goes to show that btc can easily become illegal if large financial institutions belive it will hurt their profits. Because Crypto is so poorly understood, most legislation on it will be from lobbyists attempting to rig the game for their profits.

That being said, riders are just part of how US politics work, partly because the system is designed to be so inefficient.

Played some of the new course today. It's pretty nice. Amateur is a simple and easy par 3 set of holes that are good for casual play, and Pro offers a bunch of holes with intrusive buildings in the way. Holes that have you using the draw/fade mechanics and even bouncing off buildings on purpose.

I heard the ranked mode is kinda crappy though. I played on the bus so I haven't gotten a chance to go online.

i use a hand-me-down cue made by Dufferin, a canadian company, that my cousin gave me when i was a kid. it's 17 ounces with a 10.5mm tip so bordering being a snooker cue, but i got used to it so that now most standard pool cues feel clunky to me.

Damn, that is super narrow. I play with a fat old 19oz and a 12.5mm tip. It's a cheap factory Viking cue though, I got it for under $200 four or five years ago. I want to get a new one in the $500-$600 range when I'm done with grad school, with a 12mm or an 11.75mm tip. I'm also VERY used to a linen grip... it's strange how accustomed I am to my cue now. People told me it would happen lol.
