I hear ya. Our daughter slept in bed with us for a long time because she just would not fall asleep on her own. It worked for us, but we felt like we couldn't talk about it to anyone because of all the SIDS paranoia, despite the fact that the vast majority of deaths while bedsharing are caused by factors we avoided, like taking sleeping aids or having a pillow near their head.

A nationwide mask mandate would be absolutely useless, because the states where Delta is spreading the most are the ones that will spit in the face of a nationwide mandate.

I do feel obligated to try and minimize loss of human life, yes. I feel less sympathy for those who are anti-vax in the Trumpy way, but I do know people who aren't anti-vax in general, and who do see COVID as a problem, but are just irrationally scared of the vaccine and what effect it could have.

I want this topic to get to 500 before Joey posts again, to see if he will create a new topic just to make responses. Not sure what he's basing his faith in IVM on now - the meta-analysis was basically blown up by the retracted paper, and the individual trial he kept citing as sound science was criticized in multiple ways in post #137, to which Joey said he would "go through" but never responded. All he's got now is "just you wait", which is what everyone already knew - there isn't enough evidence yet to support it being effective or useless with any confidence. And honestly, there's not even enough evidence to make it seem that promising.

That's BS. If you're comparing a small city in the south to like, NYC, then sure it's more laid back. But small cities and towns in the north are just like they are in the south. Only things that are different are the food and the accents.

I have been to Alabama, including Huntsville many times, it's close to where the wife's grandparents live. I'm surprised to say the least to see it at 3, it's not a bad city or anything, but it wouldn't be in my top 10 and i've visited probably 50 cities or so in my life.

I mean, it's top places to live, not to visit. Cost of living is low and job market is insane. Lots of growth recently. Got hiking and nearby rivers and lakes. Only thing I wish it had more of was good restaurants, but even that's gotten better in recent years. Also I wish it wasn't in Alabama, but eh. They didn't include politics in their scoring.

To continue that analogy, I think there is still room to debate which current features really do disadvantage the disabled, considering we've made a lot of improvements to the building over time. But unfortunately, the side complaining says the building is perfect as is, and they think CRT means you're actually trying to change the building to give disabled people an advantage.
