The 3DS Etrian Odysseys are my favorite in terms of mechanics. Not that the series needs to sink all the dev time into it, but if the combat presentation was less 'oldschool' it could be super successful in the west. I know a lot of people that would probably enjoy how deep and puzzle-y the game is but disregard it at face value because the presentation looks boring to them.

I watched the anime until punk hazard (current at the time) and then switched to the manga. I wish I had changed over earlier. I still catch the odd episode that I want to check out nowadays, the animation quality has gotten a lot better within the last year or so, but thats about it.

strong animation style that carries a couple sweet fights and weak everything else. World building in particular is kinda doodoo.

I'm going Time Travel unless I'm misinterpreting it. Seems like a simple and completely safe restriction rather than a dangerous draw back like most others.

I'm interpreting it as if I'm 20 years old and travel 10 years back my body reverts to my 10 year old self while using the power. 10 years forward and my body becomes its 30 year old self, etc.

You unfortunately just have to grind. I really wish the sub stories gave good EXP as a reward so you could do some interesting side content instead of just spinning the wheel on killing Vagabonds.

Also heads up if you don't mind minor spoilers, I recommend checking out a guide before the final boss because it is an absolute slog and if you go in blind you can waste a lot of time getting to phase two and then randomly get ichiban hit with a one shot that can't be defended against without preparation.

I don't think Married... With Children would be cleared for production in modern America. Mainly because of the constant fat and slut shaming/jokes with very little attempt to make the characters doing it be wrong for it written into the script.
