I drive past this place everyday omw to work. It's trash. I've driven 3 hours away to a different skydiving place because of its terrible track record.

It's a run down location in a round down area. The only reason why it's still operational is because it's such a long drive to better, safer places. Not to mention that it's right off the freeway and skydivers are constantly 15-20 feet over the actual freeway.

Coronado Beach - hit up a spot called The Henry for breakfast. I always go there whenever I go to SD, I make it fit into my schedule its so good. Definitely stroll around on Coronado and just relax. It's usually really calm.

Gaslamp quarter - idk if it's open but the Tipsy Crow is one of my go-to bars. Three stories; first floor is a chill bar vibe, second floor is more relaxed with comfy seats, pool, and games, and the basement is more of a club type. Basement is usually full of thots, fyi.

Balboa Park is awesome, but do plan on it being an all day thing if you want to enjoy what's in there. I went from sunrise to sunset and still didn't get to see everything.

I also really like the Little Italy strip. Lots of great restaurants and lively streets. If you're into military history, there's plenty of ships in port. Mission Beach is good too, lots of attractive women. Coronado is great, but it's usually an older crowd. There's this club that opened up in the Gaslamp Quarter recently-ish, I wanna say the Oasis, and I got absolutely smashed there. From what I remember it was a fun time. I also second Wonderland Pub.
My formula/recommendation is go hard on Fri/Sat night at Gaslamp and Mission Beach, then recover on Sun at Coronado. Fri hit up Balboa Park so that you get a bit of rest inbetween Fri/Sat. Women in SD are generally easy to talk to, so if any of y'all got game you probably have a decent chance.

A year ago today, I was on a plane to Orlando to go on vacation. I wasn't really worried about covid in the slightest. I flew back on 2/29/20 in the evening and my concerns had been growing. I remember hearing that someone in FL had died of covid while I was in FL.

Like did anyone truly understand the degree to which this would all be effecting us a year ago today?

Public Health Nurse with a specialty in Emergency and Disaster Management here. Several years in the Chem, Bio, Rad, Nuke field specifically.

I knew it was going to be terrible (maybe still underestimated how bad). So much so that I marked off my girlfriend's work calendar (HS teacher) of all their big events (Prom, Grad Night, Graduation etc) for the year. Told her to pack up her work stuff and prep for school closures. That Friday her school closed and said it would only be for a couple weeks. They still haven't had any students on campus.

I think most Americans overestimated our healthcare system (surprise! it's trash). Coupled with dismantled/impeded/incompetent agencies at all levels of government has led to this outcome.
