Glessing Way! combines the great guitar and synth stuff that's sorta become a theme for Bracket A, and it's got a pretty great flow to it too, hard not to like for someone like me. Honestly not too much else to say there, I may have more in later rounds. The Animorphs track was a funny super-early lock, but I can't say I don't enjoy it! It is rather simple, though, obviously no contest in this match, but it was honestly a pretty nice listen.

Inevitable Struggle is just, damn. It's another song in the same line of "great driving guitar riffs" which again is fully up my alley. And I think this one may be the best yet, the addition of the sorta orchestra in the back is great. I forgot what Baluchons was until I played it again, but then I immediately remembered. I was a bit scathing on it in my initial review (despite honestly still rating it pretty highly), but I think this is a really well done track for the mood it's going for. The violin is pretty beautiful and everything else in the song is basically there to bring it out as well as it can. The extra part with the...I'm not gonna try to name that instrument is pleasant too. All in all, a pretty and pleasant track, but it doesn't really do enough to stand up to IS here.

This isn't an Ar song? Anyways, yet another song with cool melodies and backings, but I think the standout parts are the vocals and that droning in the back during those parts. I think they actually make the whole package more memorable with it. The delay lama(?) is a bit weird though. But anyways yeah another great track, all of these making my later round votes tough. The OMORI song indeed has a "hi! I like Earthbound" feel to it, and I don't really appreciate that that much. But I think the chiller feel as well as some parts that come through occasionally bring it up a fair bit for me. It's pretty cool I guess, but I initially thought before going back I underrated it with my rating here, nah that's pretty fair. Three easy matches today, though it won't last.

Looting the Louvre was, to be fair, the song that got me into Rhythm Thief, but it still sorta feels like the kinda song you'd like if you didn't really dig into the soundtrack much. It's good, don't get me wrong, some nice jazz but it only really gets going halfway through, and just doesn't really do much notable aside from be unique. I sorta feel this too with Altered Genos, but it does actually have some real cool melodies a fair bit through as well. I don't think they make up for the mostly kinda dull rest of the song though.

Huh, didn't know Snail's House did VGM! And it sounds nothing like I'd expect it to, lol. But it's honestly quite nice! It's perhaps not got a lot to it but it's pretty easy to get entranced in it, it almost reminds me of a couple Gurumin tracks a bit. Of course, it not having a lot to it is still to its detriment here, and it's also up against one of my favourite new hears too. I mean, it's not surprising I'd like NOTHING TO DECLARE I guess. It's just sorta my kind of buttrock but it's got a lot of variety to it too, which I really like! No idea how well it'll do in VGMC still (I guess I may find out in 20 minutes), but I'm glad to have heard it at the very least.

Whoops, already voted on this one but of course it was one that was kinda close to me anyways, two great songs. Still think WotW is a bit more memorable to me, but I won't be too sad if it loses.

It's kinda no contest against a song I...personally don't really get its appearance aside from the fact this game came out last year. It...doesn't do much for me. Not necessarily anything bad in it either but, eh.

In my initial rating, I had this to say about Obstacle: "The definition of 'kinda cool I guess'. It honestly doesn't feel like it'd take too much to make me really like this but it just never really gets there for me. And some of the dissonant parts are whatever." I mean, can't say my opinion's changed that much. It's kinda nice and chill but doesn't really get me going really. On the other hand, Ryoshima Coast demonstrates Okami's beauty and brilliance perfectly. Don't think I would've really sufficiently appreciated this a few years ago for not being fast, but it just has some super beautiful melodies and just general instrumentation. I almost have this retiring from A2 above Heartless being and...Untamed Heart, it's really nice. I also would've expected this to have retired by now.

This one was...so tough, man. The first match of this bracket where I had to keep going back and forth between the two songs. Roar of the Jungle Dragon, like I expected from Calamity, is super powerful and rocking, and for the most part I don't think I'd say the vocals detract from it. It's just a really great song, and I knew it'd be. Still not the other Yharon song but I love it nonetheless. Impossible Worlds was a big surprise for me. Something about the instrumentation and the serene mood it sets really envelops me, and is honestly super pleasant and kinda powerful in its own way. It was a big surprise, and made this one really difficult, and to that fact, I'm gonna be betraying my original rankings for the first time and going with Jungle Dragon. It just hits a bit harder, and I think has more strong melodies I love that Impossible Worlds, while really good in what it does, lacks. To be honest I feel like Purple Rain from earlier is kinda like if IW had that, which is why that's like a 9 lol.

Rain is just fantastic. The first part is just this amazing tune that's dark yet chill yet powerful at the same time. And of course they then bring an amazingly mixed guitar to play over it and it just, well, simply, is epic. And then the ending is also incredibly nice, a more emotional ending to it all and gives me Wintergatan vibes. Just does so much for me, my favourite song I've been introduced to in the contest so far. 12th Chapter is, um...not that. It does some unique stuff but there isn't a moment of joy in it, not something I'd actually *want* to listen to like ever. And it pseudo-repeats, fuuun. Doubt I'll ever see another match that I feel stronger about than this one here, lol. I can only hope I get one big match in my favour here.

While still not my first Sonic pick, Planet Wisp is still pretty beautiful. I like that Sonic can blend like cool and energetic with still serene notes like this. I think I don't usually give this one enough credit cuz I compare it to others in the series too much (Though I do probably still prefer the Generations version(s?)). It's a bit repetitive/short, but that doesn't mean I couldn't listen to it for hours. The D- La- Vengeful God? (Please consider shortening your names) is honestly pretty damn cool, I can't knock it despite still being pretty sure of my vote here. It's another one where the strong melody makes up for the dated sound, but I think it accomplishes this a bit better than National Park still, it does bring about a setting and is kinda emotional too. Maybe I did underrate this one a little bit.

Heartless being [grr I am saying it the correct way!] isn't quite as good as Catalepsy to me, but I kinda knew this would be one of the main ones to catch on. Not to say it isn't amazing. Super energetic, super driving, and some amazing wubs that don't actually cut the flow at all, which is a bit of a complaint I have of some other Camellia music. And the slow parts only add to it when it kicks back up again. And then the incredibly triumphant part, going into a bit of an orchestral breakdown that's honestly my favourite part of the whole track. Just every part I could rave about. A perfect final level theme for a soundtrack that's gonna hear a lot of praise from me in this tournament. On the other hand, It's Dangerous to Go Alone is just kinda too much happy and not much else for me. I've sorta made it clear in the past how I feel about songs like that, they often just lose my interest or at most I enjoy but forget. And it's hard to tell when it's acapella and when it's singing sometimes lol. It's honestly still got it's moments but it's kinda just...ok.

Another pretty close one. Both feel just slightly out of reach of greatness for me. Soft Collision has a cool thing going but it doesn't do that much stand-out to me and it just sorta feels like it'd be more of a forgettable track on an OST I'm pretty sure is pretty good. linkage-alter does some super cool things to me (if you're gonna do crazy all-over-the-place stuff, using piano is one of the best ways to get me to enjoy it) and has some nice tones but also has some parts where it sorta loses me. It's mixed but it's also still definitely good (I enjoy like 90% of songs in this contest lol) and more memorable than the first to me.

It's day 2 and I'm already voting against a support. Joy. While I also definitely think Gurumin has a few songs I enjoy more in there, Azure Sadness keeps up the amazing feel that most of the OST has and has some really nice melodies. I find a lot of MM11's OST to be super underrated, but I'm just a guy who likes his synths I guess. Fuse Man is easily my favourite of the originals though, it's got a super strong melody and does really cool things through it as well. Not for everyone, I guess, and it could use being a bit longer maybe, but super solid. I feel so bad letting it out this soon but, granted, it's bound to lose here anyways, Gurumin's a very earned 1st seed.

Discovery honestly does some things that keep my interest through some of it, most notably some of the transitions and ends of measures, but then it takes a trip into "eh" for me at a point. Simply put, it's just not as much my kind of thing, but I can at least respect it and enjoy some parts. Fury Sparks was a big shock to me. Like, wow that's strong. It's kinda everything I felt I wanted Nefertiti to be, really great guitar lines that are memorable and stand out from the rest of the song. Just a super "cool"-feeling song. I have it ranked over Azure right now, not sure if that'll stick, but it's a delight. Definitely an easy vote here, at least.

I really feel bad for The First Thing here. It honestly does some really cool stuff, I was pretty impressed with how memorable it ended up being despite my expectations - I just still sorta wish it went somewhere at some point. Nefertiti is basically the opposite, something that should be 100% my thing but just doesn't quite grab me the same. But... I just still feel I enjoy Nefertiti a bit more, I still really like the guitar stuff in it, and it changes it up a bit more. Tough stuff for the first match.

I love some of the instrumentation and it just stays entertaining throughout. So yeah this one was no doubt.

Welp, guess I have to get negative for a bit cuz this part of the bracket's pretty weak (relatively) to me. I found more merit in both listening to them now, but while I like some elements of Collapsed Expressway it really doesn't feel like a stand-out song to me, even from an OST, and The Heritors of Arcadia just feels like such a stock of...what it's setting out to do that I don't feel a lot. But I think I do still prefer what Heritors accomplishes a bit more.
