The first 4 games were great, but the new format was really refreshing and it was still Tony Hawk. I just thought it was kinda cheap that you could continue combos by hopping off of your board. Yeah, the hate I saw was a couple years after release when I first started posting here and on other forums. Mostly purist "they changed it so it sucks" type of stuff. SuperExcitebike posted... Thug 2 was the shark jumping game, but I really liked it at the time. I was really into all that CKY stuff though. Same. Never skated myself but my friends who did got me into CKY during that time. Plus, Jackass was huge as well. Even as much as I enjoyed THUG2 at the time I was still a bit "ehhh" when it came to the goofier stuff like playing that rocket-propelled wheelchair guy. SuperExcitebike posted... For some reason, I didn't even try out American Wasteland even though I loved the previous games. American Wasteland was pretty awesome. The tone of the game was a lot closer to THUG with a heavy punk aesthetic, one of my favorite soundtracks in a game, and classic Tony Hawk gameplay minus the gimmicky stuff from THUG2. I know that's only 2, but N+ is on both the DS and PSP and they're two different games on there. Reading about N brings back some memories. I was one of a handful of kids at school who knew how to get to a bootleg version hosted on a site that wasn't blocked. There were whole ass websites dedicated to (often uber-violent) stick figure games and animations. Stick Arena was awesome. Made by the same folks who made Stick RPG. A very simple top-down arena shooter. Map design and weapon balance were super on point. You could roll around with a sledge hammer and be as effective as someone with a shotgun or AK.
