That said, I've learned it's always better to overdress than underdress at a new job, especially as a temp worker. I've seen a number of temp workers at my workplace and the ones that dress inappropriately don't usually last more than a week - it leaves a bad taste in the manager's mouths. I've also never heard of any workplace allowing shorts and a t-shirt as acceptable dress. I know Walmart sells long khakis and polos for 20 bucks total and that'll serve you well. My guess is chemical overfed from a local treatment system on the particular attraction and caused the irritation when the treated water sprayed guests. Same with the chlorine feed. In higher concentrations bleach and acid in water make a nauseous gas as well. If 35 percent sulfuric acid directly hits your skin you will get severe chemical burns. It is why the rest of the state dislikes NOVA and NOVA dislikes the rest of the state - they live in alternate universes basically. Virginia is a reliable blue state in elections now because of the ballooning growth of 2 or 3 counties of NOVA over the last 20 years, most of them immigrants or out of state. Big culture clash between there and the rest of the state. I live in Richmond now and have lived in Loudon, Yorktown, and grew up in mountains outside of Roanoke. I have seen literally all of this state. It's honestly pretty good here, other than the far southwest where it's poor, mountainous, and has a terrible opiod epidemic. I travel this entire state for my job and it's amazing how diverse this state has become in frankly the last 10 years. In practice, chilled water from a central cooling plant is pumped to multiple smaller air handler units throughout a building or set of buildings. The duct on those is both too small and not stable enough to support a person. In a prison, this would be an intentional design decision. | RamboCell29 07/07/21 4:04:10 PM #9 | Some do, some don't. There are a multitude of reasons for this. All prisons have heat. It is required to have heating and prisons don't want pipes to freeze. Usually larger prisons have a boiler plant that sends non-potable Hot Water or Steam to the interior buildings in the prison complex. That water tends to enter radiators for heat, etc. Not all prisons have cooling though. There is a much higher expense to cool than there is to heat, and often older prisons (many were built 50+ years ago, at least in my state of Virginia) don't have cooling simply because the original infrastructure didn't have cooling in place due to technological limitations or simply due to expenses. On top of this, prisons are typically overpopulated meaning cooling systems tend to be unable to keep up with environmental loads. Not to mention you can't really shut down a prison to renovate. And no politician ever wants to be accused of spending money on prisons either with so many other things taxpayers expect.
