You think they don't investigate with vigor, but they do. They are trying to find answers. The specific things that have been debunked remain debunked. It isn't a blanket for all theories. No new data(and they have been investigating) has shown what has been debunked to be false. When a theory says "Scientist X said Y" and Scientist X comes out and says "No, I didn't", then that's kind of the end of that. When someone says "I have proof of Z", and people say "Present it" and they never do, it's kind of evident that they were lying. Investigations will continue. Regardless of what any social media or the population at large say or do. The WORLD still wants answers. None of which hinge on what was being shared on Facebook(or whatever the general consensus of the non-scientific community is), despite whatever you think. They still look into it. They still want answers. They are still spending money, time, and resources to try to explain things. --- |

The last US administration poured money into verifying the lab leak theory and came up with no real provable data, and yet the current administration is still going to look into it even further and they trying to get the Chinese Government to actually assist. And still there is no real scientific data to suggest that the lab leak theory is real. And yet that won't stop the scientist or the Governments of the world from exhausting every avenue they can. --- |

The EU is now seeing that we aren't sharing like they are and that AZ failed to make as much as they were contracted to deliver. So the EU will try to ban exports and be as "selfish" as us. --- |
